“We celebrated my 60th with a fantastic Sunday Lunch here in the sunshine on their lovely terrace. For starters from their French market table in it's own room we chose from soup, prawns, salmons, meats, vegetables, coleslaw breads etc, all so delicious. Then we had their most beautiful rare roast Beef lunch followed by creme brulle. This all served by wonderful smiling, fun & friendly staff Luke, Shaun & Katie. Thank you all and the Chefs for making our day so special ? x”

“Usual high standard for our second visit. Room facilities and cleanliness were as good as ever, as were local amenities. staff and overall service. Value for money an important plus point, too. Location a bonus either for visiting Newcastle or if breaking a journey using A1.”

“We stayed at this hotel for the first time last month. My 7 year old son who has autism, is a huge Newcastle United fan and couldn't wait to visit! Everything there was absolutely perfect. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfy and we slept really well. The food was also amazing and on the last day before we travelled back to South Wales, a young waitress offered us some cakes to take with us. It is definitely the most friendly Premier inn we've ever stayed in! The only one bad thing was on the last day, while I was packing up and my son and partner was taking the cases to the car, my son must have accidentally pulled the plug from the iron with him as he was leaving the room. Withing 1 minute there was a knock at the door and I was greeted with a rude cleaner (who was older with short grey hair and small in height). She was saying how dangerous it was and I apologised and moved it straight away. But even after that she kept going on with how it's dangerous. Afterwards when I met up with my partner and son for breakfast I told them about it and they said when they were on their way back they bumped into what sounded like the same lady and she asked what room they was in. When they told her she gave them no response. I completely understand it might have hurt someone if they'd stepped on it but as other families and even people without families may know its quite difficult to pack up and have breakfast to be out by 10 especially If your child has autism. I apologised that I didn't see it in that few seconds after they left but I just don't understand how she had to be so rude about it. I hate to leave something negative because everything else was absolutely perfect and that goes with the rest of the staff and I feel its fair to leave them 5 stars”

“So I’ve visited this hotel many times this year and I can’t express how nice it is to walk into the bar and have such a warming reception from Josh the barman. He is first class!!! NEVER lets you have an empty glass and always friendly making sure you have your food order. What a complete asset to the company. This man is the reason I enjoy coming to the hotel on a weekly basis he’s an outstanding member of staff. Thank you Marriot and once again thank you Josh the best bar keep of the north !!”

“The hotel rooms were clean, and the beds are comfortable. The food is good for the cost, the staff are kind and you can go into Newcastle for cheap by the park and ride bus stop across the road from the hotel.”

“It’s what you expect from a Travelodge. Nothing fancy. My room was clean, staff were friendly, there’s a great dinner place next door, car park is a good size and wasn’t full by the time I got there (at 6pm) like it normally is. The lack of a restaurant and a bar is a shame, but it saves costs and there’s nearby places. It might help my lack of self-discipline at the English breakfast buffet! The room has minimal facilities, but all described accurately. The train line along the car park, not very far away at all, makes some noise, but like most train services in UK, there’s not many trains anyway.”

“You can't beat this place's convenience to the train station. I actually stayed at the hotel twice during my trip. The rooms were fine (although the bigger one was definitely nicer) and the breakfast at the hotel was very good. They helped us out the first night as there was a group having some sort of a party. They set us up with a room away from where the party was happening. I would stay again if I were coming back!”

“The welcome we got on check in was very warm and friendly and Ashleigh went out of her way to change the type of room I had booked. The reception area was clean and light and our room was very clean, spacious with a bathroom to match. Good supply of towels, very comfy beds and tea and coffee tray was generous. We stayed for 3 nights and choice at breakfast was good and the hot selection was always nice and hot and tasty. The manager was very friendly and every member of staff we came across were helpful and friendly too. Newcastle people are certainly suited for hospitality, wherever we went the people were friendly and went out of Thursday to help us. Fab weekend and we will certainly return to the lovely city and this hotel”

“Wonderful staff and they totally loved my 4 legged Furbaby Alfie. ???????Two nights stay. Bargain price plenty to eat and drink. Burger king, Greggs,& Subway. And an Esso petrol station. Absolutely great....Super quiet.Came looking at new Properties. Relocating from Leeds. Used this hotel as a breather. The beds are the best beds I've ever slept in.Rooms: There isn't much I don't like about a Travel Lodge......it was great as always. This is my 1st stay at Newcastle. I find the beds super friendly. Smells nice ? love the fact they let Dogs into the rooms and freedom is just excellent ? Towels are amazing and the room is very clean. I think your underselling yourselves I would pay more money. “Recommend room 101 if it’s available. Large and spacious. Quiet and nice views. Room was clean. Although not perfect it’s an old building after all. Nice receptionist. Good hotel if your just staying a couple of nights. View from the restaurant over the water is incredible”

“We stayed here for one night at the beginning of the week.Great price and excellent location. The Travelodge itself is a little tired - carpets on the corridor were tatty in places and the entire Reception /bar area had a smell to it on entering - maybe the carpets needed cleaning? Our room also had a strange aroma. That said, the staff were lovely and friendly both on Reception and later in the bar area.We were upgraded at no additional cost to a family room which would be in a quieter part of the building. The beds are big and comfortable and there was everything that you need for an overnight stay.We decided to eat in the bar and chose 3 light bite dishes for just over £10 in total - very generous portions and tasty! A group of young lads at a nearby table ordered some delicious looking pizzas from the comprehensive menu.We also had free tea and coffee in the bar area.We were rather confused by the strange numbering system on the rooms - we were put in room 13 which involved going along a long corridor of rooms in the 200s then through a door and down one floor in the lift, another door and along a corridor. I'm still not sure exactly where we were in the hotel...We were not the only ones confused by this numbering system!Great value and location for one night.Food & drinks: Good choice on the menu including 3 for just over £10 on the Lite Bite options. Well stocked bar plus tea/coffee etcGood breakfast menu available and a vending machine with chocolate etc in the Reception area”

“This hotel is the best hotel to book if you are going to a concert at the utilita arena... literally 5 minute walk (if that) also only a short walk in to the city centre. There is no parking at the hotel but there is a multi storey opposite, which is reasonably priced.(think it was £16 for 24 hours) The only thing that could've been improved was check in, We queued for a while as there was only 1 person checking people in, another staff member came to help after a while which got things moving, the receptionists were lovely though so was impossible to be annoyed. The room was spacious and clean, tea/coffee is provided along with shower gel/shampoo etc there is also a hairdryer provided and ironing board and iron. Everything you need without having to ask. I liked being able to check out online so that I could just drop the key cards in the express box so we didn't have to queue. All in all we had a comfortable stay and I wouldn't stay anywhere else when we are attending the arena.”
