“We had a fantastic stay at Hoar Cross Hall, the venue is stunning as you drive in, and the whole hotel is amazing, feels like you are worlds away from the day to day, all staff are so polite, Ian was amazing and really made sure our check in and room was to our satisfaction. We didnt want to leave and im ready to return a week later!”

“First time calling in The Beacon for food, having previously called when it was a Bass boozer, prior to the major fire some years ago. It is now a really well appointed pub/restaurant that serves gorgeous food. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was first class. The Steak and Stilton Mediterranean salad was the best I have ever tasted.”

“Thank you to the staff especially Dee who made our meal at the Dog and Partridge special. We had items from the Lunch Menu which had variety and the meals were well prepared and filling. Dee was welcoming and made our visit very enjoyable.”

“Friendly/helpful staff, as always.Had a good room (new style) this time, which is much better than the existing rooms. Great location, especially for food and drink - Beefeater next door, Morrisons accross the road, McDonalds also within walking distance, a Carter & Miller restaurant, and an excellent Toby carvery no more than half a mile away.”

“It's people that make your stay and the staff at this hotel were so kind and so thoughtful when we checked in at 3am due to a hospital visit with my son who had tonsilitis. Pete on reception couldn't have been kinder and even arranged for a later checkout. Manager next day was also very helpful and even saved my bacon when we left his antibiotics in their fridge!!! ? sleep deprivation at it's finest! There were lovely touches like Halloween snacks for the children and also extras in our room. We will definately stay here again. Exterior of hotel could do with a spruce up but clearly this si head office and not staff. It's people who make your stay, not places and these people are lovely!”

“Rooms are rather dated, but they are clean! Kettle took forever to boil and looked rather old and limescale. Hall and rooms had new carpets was clear it's been freshly painted so that's a good thing maybe they are makeing more changes. Staff are very friendly, funny and helpful. Travel lodge got us sorted for a last minute for a few room bookings when another location in Burton Town cancelled because of damages that needed fixing because of their previous air b&b occupier. I would stay again if I had to based on location and price, but wouldn't be my first choice.”

“Located close to the railway station and a five minute walk from the town centre. Rooms are basic and a bit sparse but clean and have everything you need for a short stay.Rooms: Sparse but OK for a short stay”

“There's a sign at the entrance that says this was the very first hotel opened for Travelodge back in the 1980s. And judging by the rooms it doesn't seem like they've done much to update them since then! But that also shows how well thought out the idea was. The rooms are still comfortable and very functional - exactly what the brand aims to deliver.”

“Great budget hotel, lovely staff and comfortable rooms. I really recommend the cottage suites with the kitchenettes. 5 min walk from town with shops and restaurants and very close to the river so you can take a nice walk a long. Feels very cosy and has a lot of character. I’ve stayed here before and will again”
