Nice little post office located in the underground floor near Durham city centre.Got limited staff which work fine but the only thing of concern is that they mostly don't answer phone calls and have an automated response "all our staff are busy at the moment", maybe it would be better to simply employ a customer service...

They have been understaffed at times, leading to unpredictable opening hours and long queues. (This seems to have improved recently.) But once you get to the counter, the service is always excellent: both friendly and knowledgeable.

Arrived at 12:45 to post a heavy parcel which I had carried into town only to find the red barriers across the stairs and no lights on. WH Smith’s staff said the post office wouldn’t be opening again today despite the advertised opening hours showing a 16:30 close on a Saturday. Ended up driving to Willowtree PO where...
