Went in for lunch. Can't comment on rooms as didn't stay overnight. When we arrived we were told to sit anywhere. No one offered us a menu. I helped myself to a menu from the table near the door. We asked what pie of day was. Were told by waitress she thought it was steak and ale but would check with chef. She never came back to tell us the answer. I has to go and ask her. I ordered 3 steak & ale pies with chips and 2 drinks. I paid as I knew we would not be having anything else. We had just called in for lunch. I paid the amount requested but thought drinks must be expensive as it was more than I thought. I asked for the bill for our records. When I checked the bill I noticed it had 10% service charge added. This irritated me as it is just a pub and I believe tip should be what you wish at the end of the meal and up to that point the service was bad !! The next customer who ordered food at the bar queried her bill as she thought it was more than expected. She was told rather bluntly a 10% service charged was added to the food. .She paid anyway. Next customer asked for the lunch menu (sandwiches) and were told they were not doing that menu. It was the main menu or nothing When the food arrived the pie had plenty of meat but the pastry was a little under cooked. We found a strange object, some kind of stalk, on one plate which was left on the side of the plate and we left. Service was not good ! It was all a bit cold. We will not be visiting again. The place was very quiet and we were there at what should be peak lunchtime. Pub we went in to in next village was packed and we could not get in. Not difficult to see why this one was so quiet.

Everything was amazing especially the waiter called alex .He was very nice to me and my family he was very helpful as he lit some candles for our table he supplied crayons and children menu . There where a lot of activities such as darts and skittles which where so much fun the parking was very accessible and was a lovley location. The inside was amazing decorated with lights and some incredible food such as as the burger and the steak. It was accessible for dogs and supplied treats and snacks for my dogo which it loved.Food & drinks: Lovely food and drinks amazing food?

I visited for a funeral and can't fault them, I arrived early and they allowed me to check in and get ready as the room was ready. The staff were super friendly, particular thanks to Kerry for all her help, very grateful. The rooms are a lovely high standard and very clean etc, lovely breakfast too and a warm welcome.

We stayed here for one night at the end of February to break up a long journey to West Wales. We had an amazing winter saver deal. Staff are really lovely, very friendly. Rooms were modern, very clean and well equipped, we were given fresh milk in flasks for tea/coffee in room. Really nice rainfall shower and quality toiletries included. We had evening meal and breakfast, no complaints with the food, all good. Myself and family occupied three rooms, the only negative during our stay was the beds, the bedding was faultless but the mattresses were firm and a bit too lumpy to sleep well with none of us really getting much sleep.

Let's just say it's an experience I won't be repeatingLet's do the positives first, staff were really good especially the two ladies on during the evening on during the evening if my stay. Food was exceptional, good size room and no noise from the pub. Now let's look at what ruined my stay...First 2 rooms with broken toilet seats, first room had skidmarks as well (room 2 then room 7)Room 9Hard bedLong dangling cobwebsLime scale in sinkBroken plug chainConstant running water in toiletGrime and dirt round bottoms of shower doorsLime scale on shower heads affecting water flowDirty ceiling extractorFresh coffee provided but each room only had one bag of decaf ground coffee!?

I cannot rate the rooms because I have not stayed there but I hear that they are very nice. People I work with stay there on a regular basis.I popped in for a catch up with a family member. Only stayed about an hour but was made very welcome. The pub has a nice village vibe about it. Sport on tv. Dart board. Open fire. Great beer and a good food menu. Highly recommended.

I booked a disability access room but was told when I arrived that there was nothing on the system to indicate that I had done so, despite the screenshot in my phone showing the booking, irrespective the level access room was unavailable due to a leak. Disappointingly we were then given a room up a flight of stairs and at the farthest point of the hallway. Would have been nice to have at least been allocated a room on the ground floor to avoid unnecessary stairs for my Wife who can only use a level access shower..Sadly it got worse as the bed we had was like sleeping in a board and so hard I woke feeling like I hadn?t rested.I would like to say that the food I ate on my first evening was really great, however it was only ok at best and breakfast was almost as though it was somewhat of an inconvenience. This is the second time I have stayed at the WH and on the first occasion it was fine, however I would need to be given a decent reason why I should book to stay again in the future! There are areas of loose paving on the pedestrian route between the rooms and pub entrance which require addressing before someone has a nasty fall, aside of this the pub overall is jaded and in need of some care and attention.

Stopped here. Nice pub, the dog treats sold on the bar seemed a bit pricey but in fact the one we chose was well worth it. Our terrier was delighted with the venison chew which kept him occupied while we ate, and he savoured it over several days.
