“Well equipped small supermarket. Most things you need but obviously not the range Inthe larger stores. Reasonable parking convenient location to pop into. Friendly staff, easy self checkout machines too.”

“As a slightly disabled 76 year old, this is the best local shop in Victoria Park vicinity- non Non Secondus; after leaving the shop without my debit card a member of staff ran a quarter mile to return it.Staff always helpful and polite; possibly the best small store in our great city”

“I have got to say this Sainsbury Local in Durrington is a brilliant store and the staff are very friendly and helpful. During lockdown, they was no need to go further afield as there was plenty of stock to keep a family going. Many thanks.”

“Lidl (and Aldi) are the great supermarkets of the 2010+ years. They offer products just the same as the big four British supermarkets but at far better prices, often 30-40% cheaper and who can refuse an offer that good. As a result we have moved our weekly/monthly shop to Lidl and have seen a significant reduction in our costs.Not only that but who can resist the middle of Lidl isle, always something on offer, and frequently something useful.Even better now if you use the Lidl app. Revisited this Lidl again in 2023 and we are still happy to recommend.”

“It was busy,mind you though it always is on Tuesday (over 60's discount day)the lady on the till was working hard as were the rest of the staff who were all willing to help if and when it was needed, the place was fairly clean and well stocked,I quite like the place”

“Lovely selection of luxury goods and luxury foods plus amazing selection of Christmas items ( although can be expensive) lovely outdoor plants , enjoyed the bargain half price plants !!!!Visit to the restaurant , excellent staff with very pleasant attitudes so professional and chatty. Good selection of foods on the menu . Ordered wraps and they were delicious . Good prices ?”

“Unfortunately I have not been into my local Tesco for some time. The last time the staff were very friendly and polite and the shelves were generously stacked and there did not appear too much of a relocation of items. A good amount of stock compared with the larger stores. ”

“Good supply of stuff, interesting food you probably wouldn’t find elsewhere. Only two things I don’t like is there’s no self-checkout and the prices change for unreasonable amounts. Will not be buying that much Tropicana anymore.”

“This Tesco has a good selection of stuff, very well located in the city centre. There's good fresh fruit and veg, meal deals, and a good selection of other stuff - I came in for household supplies like washing up sponges and there was a good selection for very good prices.”

“What's not to like? BP fuel and Marks and Spencer food. Great combination. Large forecourt selling BP fuel, large and clean shop selling M&S food and snacks by polite, friendly and helpful staff, as you would expect from two great British companies.”

“A wide range of goodies. I have to stop trembling hands from snatching up every last morsel available. In the end I settle for a crate of beer and a tin of dog food. Dinner sorted. The staff behind the til are the kindest most passionate people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. Hot stuff too, woof. I’ve been five times this weekend and I don’t even need anything. I just love it so much, truly lives up to its reputation of being the heroine of corner shops. ”

“Yes the cafe serves predominantly people of a certain generation but we are not too precious to come here for afternoon tea after walking all around town. We got the coffee walnut cake and the chocolate cake, both delicious and they took away the residual taste from a poor pub lunch elsewhere. Wife got the Brazilian single origin Americano coffee with liquid cream on the side as she likes it so we were happy to take the weight off our feet. Did a little shopping as well as there’s a much bigger range than in Australia. Finally you can always find a reasonable free toilet in M and S, a bonus for we tourists, and quite unlike the experience in France”
