Only called in for lunch, so no idea about the rooms, but given the experience we had I would expect they?re good. Lunch was excellent as was the service. Will be calling in again.Food & drinks: Great and varying menu using local in season food, everything we ate was delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. The drinks were good too.

I once met Sir Terry Pratchett and during our conversation he told me The Queen's Head was his favourite pub. I immediately decided that should the opportunity arise, I would visit The Queen's Head for a pint. Well thank you Sir Terry and thank you Queen's Head for living up to the recommendation. We had the pint, then we had dinner and stayed for the night. The pub itself is lovely, low-roofed, charming, the very essence of a small village pub. The food was excellent, our room was excellent, the hospitality and our treatment by the staff was of such a high standard I can only assume they suspected we were mystery shoppers, or part of some 'Undercover Boss' style reality show. Highly recommend.

We recently moved to a village a few miles away and despite having three closer pubs we absolutely love the Queens Head, our dogs are always made welcome, the staff are lovely, food is always amazing and ?proper ? home made food, however, for us it?s that it still remains a real pub, we can sit at the bar and enjoy a drink and a chat. Please don?t change.

We really enjoyed our dinner. Food was delicious and staff really friendly. Two of our party had allergies and specific dietary requirements and they were really helpful in accommodating them. We had marked up menus on arrivals so we knew what we could have and they were wonderful handling any additional queries we had. I would highly recommend.

Faultless. We stayed overnight on 27th Dec 2023 in a beautifully appointed room with huge, comfortable beds and toasty duvets. Gleaming bathroom and plenty of pillows and towels. The welcome was warm and genuine. We felt like nothing was too much trouble and very much made to feel at home.Terrific Rude Giant ale on tap. I was lucky enough to have the festive brew which was a perfect pint of best bitter. The breakfast was perfect and again, we were given a cheery welcome and attended to expertly.Nice, low level music in the morning and a gentle bustle of activity behind the bar.Special mention to Will from Stockport who undoubtedly has a gift for hospitality. A team effort, of course, but he was front of house during our stay and did a sterling job.Rooms: Terrific value, including a generous breakfast.Noteworthy details: Lovely roaring fire and olde worlde charm with nooks and corners.

Classic country pub with culinary pretentions let down by mediocre food and lacklustre service. Had a much better meal with impeccable service at Cote the following day. Disappointing.
