Thank you a lady called Hayat helped me today with a very difficult request, I was in work clothes full of mud, unshaven and looking rough as owt, I still got treated as a valued customer. I'm saddened though that this branch is closing, I struggle to go into the city centre.

Based on my family's experience with this particular branch, I would advise the Halifax to save their millions on diversity and inclusion advertising and maybe focus their attention on training staff, in particular the manager at this branch on these issues. The Halifax had made a mistake on my mothers bank account (which the financial ombudsman has concluded as being the case) but rather than focusing on rectifying the error, she seemed more interested as to why an elderly Asian woman had savings, where she got them from and what she intends to use them for. Interrogation took place by screaming across the shop floor in full view of customers. Is this not racial profiling and prejudice in its clearest form? NEWS FLASH- Black and Asian people can also have money that has not been gained illegally. These types of stereotypical views and actions are what causes problems in society. Lessons learned hopefully and maybe a little more respect can be shown to other BAME customers who bank with the Halifax.

Terrible service! staff think because they work in Moortown they are better than, make up rules as they go along. Too busy to actually help if it means having to pick up a phone or move an inch of their seat. Would like to award zero stars but not an option.

Longer queues than other banks, only 2 cashier desks, and a lot of the time only 1 is vacant.

I had an appointment at this branch at 9am. The staff were not ready. There was me and another customer who went to one of the cashiers. The cashier was rude to the customer saying "I don't know who told you that but its wrong" - very embarrassing. The other cashier was counting up her float and didn't make eye contact with me once to either ask if I was being seen to or tell me she wouldn't be long. The advisor I was there to see walked passed me to her office, whilst I stood in the banking hall - bearing in mind there was just me and she had a 9am appointment - odds on it would be me. She kept glancing my way from her office whilst talking about her journey to work and then I received a phone call from her asking where I was! She was 5ft away from me, I was shocked that not one person asked me what I was doing there - even though I was expected. When she eventually did come out to greet me she asked why I didn't grab her as she was passing. I didn't know who she was and why should I? Is that customer service to you? She then also said that she had rung a few times, I looked at my phone and no-one had rang me over the previous days from a number I didn't know. The mortgage advisor then said she didn't know what my appointment was about even though I had spoken at length to a very helpful and informative person in the call centre earlier in the week that made the appointment for me. I found the whole experience frustrating and just wanted to walk out. It was a very old fashioned branch in terms of their customer service skills and an outdated perceived perception they are superior to their customers. I would suggest they need further training from a larger branch - or just take notes of the adverts on the TV which is a far reflection form the service I encountered. I don't think this is a fair review of Halifax as a whole, previous dealing have been excellent. However, I am now looking to take my business elsewhere.
