No automatic refunds for faulty goods - credit note offered.I bought a watch from B L Homer in Rustington. I live in the village and like to support local businesses. This was a dress watch to wear with other gold jewellery and it was only on the second time of wearing it in five weeks that I realise that the hands were not properly aligned; at 6 o?clock the little hand was pointing somewhere between the 5 and 6 rather than straight at the 6. See pictureI returned the watch to the shop because it was faulty. They didn?t have another watch of the same model in stock and I asked for a refund, but was told they would only give a credit note. I didn?t want a credit note, I wanted a new watch or my money back and they didn?t have a new watch to offer me. They said they could try and order me one but didn?t know how long it would be. It could be a few weeks. I asked to speak to the manager I was told she wouldn?t be in till the following day.I returned to the store the following day, met with the manager and was told she could only give me a credit note. She would not give a refund and said that the fault couldn?t have been particularly important to me as I?d only just noticed it! She did say she would try to get a replacement but didn?t know how long it would take. Whilst I wouldn?t have minded waiting a few days, I wasn?t prepared to wait indefinitely. I asked her to give me a call later that day to let me know one way or the other how long a replacement would take. I had paid for the watch using a credit card and was fully entitled to make a refund via Visa. I received a call early afternoon to say that a replacement would not be available and they would now give me a refund.I made a third trip to the store in two days and received a full credit on my card. Regrettably, at no point did anybody say ?sorry? for the inconvenience.Had I bought from one of the large chain stores I would?ve received the choice of a replacement or a refund without any questions.. I shall not buy in the store again.A happy ending?To end on a more positive note, I searched online and found H Samuels had the same model watch in stock in Worthing, Bognor Regis and Chichester. Instead of the £199 I had paid, they were offering the same watch for £109 and I received a further 10% discount by supplying them with an email address.Thank you B L Homer, for teaching me a valuable lessons regarding buying from small businesses.

I highly recommend BL Homer Jewellers for their excellent customer service and jewellery repair skills. I recently brought my grandmother's necklace to them for repair, and they were able to fix it quickly and perfectly. The necklace is a very sentimental piece to me, and I was so grateful that they were able to restore it to its former glory.The staff at BL Homer Jewellers were very friendly and professional. They took the time to listen to my concerns and explain the repair process in detail. They also provided me with a fair and accurate estimate.I was very pleased with the results of the repair. The necklace looks brand new again, and I can't wait to wear it for my grandmother's birthday next month. I have used this jewellers for many years for different occasions and gifts , recently I lost the stone from my engagement ring and to repair they quoted double the price of the rings original price, the ring is only 2 years old (I?ve since had a much cheaper quote elsewhere)followed by a 1st anniversary bracelet present which snapped the next day , I asked (with full proof of purchase for a refund ) but was declined this and offered a credit note which I had to take as there was no other option , really disappointing treatment to a local long standing customer

Great independent jewellers. I needed my ring repaired and they did an amazing job. Super quick and beautiful repair with really reasonable price. Very helpful staff. I will be back for Christmas presents!

I walked into this jewellers being new to the area asking for help with a much loved watch that had stopped. I knew the battery had recently been replaced so suspected a costly problem would result. Luckily Jo took pity on me and decided to inspect the watch to find the battery terminal was loose. She made a small adjustment and said ?give it a try?. Four weeks later the watch is still working fine and I visited her to thank her again in person. Can?t thank Jo enough and highly recommend the shop if you have any such needs.

Me and my wife took our daughter to have her ears pierced at B L Homer on the 4/03/23My daughter was very excited but also a little scared.The 2 lady?s in there were absolutely brilliant, and I can?t thank them enough.Also while in there, I had a chance to have a look at some of the beautiful jewellery, I will be back very soon to buy some gifts.One very happy customer

I had my ears pierced here on Friday (third lobe) and can honestly say it was a great experience. I was in and out within 10 minutes and felt like the whole thing was a total breeze. The staff member was really friendly and explained everything fully. They were practical, efficient and everything was sterile.This was done with a gun which I have had done before with my other lobe piercings - so far they feel like they are healing just fine.All this for just £20! Amazing! Thank you!

Took my brand new diamond engagement ring here to be resized. Got home and saw that my diamond had been chipped on one side and scuffed on the other. Took it back to the shop who denied all knowledge and said that I must have done the damage prior to taking it to be resized. I only had the ring for two days and didn't stop looking at it.... Offered no compensation and accepted no fault. Don't take your jewellery here if you care about it. AWFUL!!!!!!!!
