1 star is pushing it. Went in today for drinks. The shop wasn't that busy, plenty free tables. Went to the counter to order, someone was in front of me, when it got to my turn the lady at the counter walked away to tidy other tables, there was another lady behind the counter but she made no attempt to serve anyone. The lady in the queue behind me walked away, I gave it a few more minutes and also left. The staff did not have a smile between them all. Also having looked at the state of the back kitchen, I'm glad I didn't eat there. Not the cleanest.

Popped in a few days ago with my wife for a late morning breakfast. We had sausage and bacon sandwiches which were smashing. The service and prices were excellentI went in on my own a couple of days later. In fact I was the first customer. I ordered a sausage sandwich. Unfortunately on this occasion it was nothing like the previous one and I couldn't finish itI will revisit as there is a lovely atmosphere about the placePB

Really disappointed with my birthday gift of afternoon tea. Upgraded to Deluxe. Nothing wrong with the quality of food just the amount you got for your money. Not good value.

Love this place, the food, the stagg, the environment, everything is just lovely! Thank you for making me and my baby welcome. This place is a corner of peace in a otherwise busy shopping centre. Thank you again,

After receiving afternoon tea vouchers for my 50th birthday I was looking forward to having a lovely afternoon with a friend. We were seated to a separate area for afternoon tea. The first thing I noticed once we were settled was my knife was dirty so I asked for it to be replaced, I then noticed my fork was also dirty in-between the forks and again asked for it to be replaced. When the tea came the teapot had a large chip at the end of the spout and the milk jug had brown stains on the inside. Not wanting to complain again I said nothing. I did pre order vegetarian food a week before and also explained that my vegetarian friend was allergic to onions. Which I reminded the staff again before the food was served. When afternoon tea food was served, it also had a sausage roll and a cheese and onion quiche, all placed on the SAME plate and touching the sandwiches. Without any thought for cross contamination of food or my friends allergies, or that she is vegetarian. The waitress realised the mistake for the sausage roll and took it off the plate. Leaving behind the remainder of the food. I took the quiche off the plate and ate the sandwiches on each end to ensure my friend would not have eaten a sandwich near the food that we previously asked to be excluded. I would have thought if this happened elsewhere the whole plate would ha e been taken back and replaced with fresh food because of contamination, not just take the meat off. The salad was nice until we found a large lettuce stalk inside and handed it back to the waitress explaining we could not eat that. There were also two cakes and scones served with the afternoon tea, one of the cakes had jellybeans on the top of the frosting, to be honest I dare not ask if they were suitable for vegetarians incase i did not like the answer, so we took them off the cake and left them on the plate. This is by far worst afternoon tea i have ever experienced and would not recommend anyone else go there. The staff looked like they were going through the motions and did not seem happy there, very unapologetic. On the plus side the crisps and tea was nice.

I'm honestly not one for negative reviews but half hour wait for 2 baguettes and when they arrived the part baked baguettes hadn't been baked at all so was stale and stodgey and there wasn't even any butter. At that point we'd waited so long I didn't have it in me so say anything. The staff either way looked run off their feet tbh and didn't either have the numbers or anyone senior was there to organise.Hot chocolate was well nice and the environment was lovely, a nice "hidden" tea room. Shame about the food.

Service was very poor! Staff had no manners and were rude! We waited 15 minutes for 2 cold drinks and a muffin even though they were already on a tray ready! Will not be returning!

This is a lovely little cafe inaide a cute little shop. The staff are friendly, the food is good but something just doesn?t quite work about this place. It is far too overcrowded, almost to the point of being dangerous (please reconsider where you store your high chairs - in the far corner behind a load of tables is not appropriate). The wait time on food is always long, even when it is not busy. I think it would be better if they just served coffee and cake as they really cannot keep up with the orders they have.

Time for Afternoon Tea! This place is great for a bit of relaxation and think of Jane Austin, and the good old days!

Excellent venue and lovely food, we went for breakfast, a return after being impressed on previous visit, but also tried their cakes. Pity they do not do poached eggs. The shop also contains a wide range of gifts and furnishing items
