Even though the architecture and design of the Grand Central is impressive and the light comes from the roof, it is a train station and I have to honestly say that it functions less efficient than any other ordinary train station. As a tourist visiting Birmingham for the first time, I had a some confusing moments, like the name of the place on the map vs. the sign on the building vs. the name of the station (New Street Station). The most confusing part was finding my train and the platform. All signs are located in the center of the station.\\n\\nThe displays are arranged according to departure times and not destinations. So you have to know the departure time of your train to look at the right display, otherwise you have to check all the displays until you find your train and the platform.\\n\\nIt is really difficult to navigate here, partly because there is a gigantic reconstruction going on and partly because it is poorly signposted. Another distracting parameter is that the station is built together with a shopping center, which makes navigation even more difficult.

Almost looks like an airport! It?s a huge railway station with a lot of stores and cafés inside. It?s super clean and there are clear boards for instructions. Even though I was visiting for the first time, I could figure out the way on my own. The staff is helpful too.

Always one of their escalators doesn't work. The screens must be close to all entrances not in the center. Fix those escalators, there are many senior or obese train rides fgs

Amazing Shopping Centre, its host the likes of Kitty Café, a rescued cat centre, you have to visit Kitty Cafe, The staffs are amazing, I spoke to Amani, she was excellent. Very happy place to work she adds.Watch out for Mrs Chew restaurant amongst the other restaurant there. Fat face is in there. The centre had a lot going for it.There was a tennis court and I believe a squash court too.Natwest bank. The centre is just a perfect art work. Then Hill streets leading to the Grand Central is a most visit. Jon Jones Castle fine art created an excellent artist wall with amazing fine art dedicated to the city and Children's hospital Birmingham.See the pictures for more.

There are a wide variety of eating venues at Grand Central. You can choose from Thai, Vietnamese, Italian, Lebanese, Mexican and Chinese. There are also the standard favourites such as McDonald?s, Five Guys and Nando?s. Lots of shopping close by including Selfridges and Primark. If you go during the winter months you may also get to visit the German market.

Grand central is a great place to visit. There?s a vast range of food places and shopping stores. The perfect place to visit with family, because there?s something for everyone! The layout of Grand Central is amazing, and it?s easy to find what you?re looking for, thanks to the maps and signs.

The grand central first class train is topnotch. Walking in, I discovered I already had a complementary drink and snack on my seat, waiting. A kind man came over 20mins after to ask if I wanted a hot or cold drink, well, coffee responded that it wanted me?.There are fire extinguishers in strategic places, there are two bins per coach, reclined seats that a nursing mother can use to change her baby. Enough leg and arm space. The quietness is so soothing.First time ever using it and I must say that I?m super impressed. Next time I?ll do a review on the standard class section. Oh also I charged my phone throughout my journey and I was offered a second cup of hot drink. I went for tea this time.

Grand Central is my favourite part about Birmingham New Street Station, it is a shopping centre located above the train station, which connects into the Bullring (the city's main shopping centre), via a walkway. It can be a great to visit to kill some time before your train, or even to shop while in the city, plus the walkway acts as a cool way of getting to the train station and dogging the rain, of which we get more than our fair share of in the UK! Birmingham New Street Station - Bullring- Grand Central opened in September 2015, it still feels new and modern. The stunning balcony, lighting and architecture are nice to admire, and the perfect welcome into one of the country's greatest cities. I loved admiring the view in the dark autumn nights, while sat enjoying a coffee at Joe and the Juice. Grand Central's only flagship retailer was John Lewis, sadly this store has now closed down but there are still a couple of shops located here, which includes Tesco Express, Foyles and Whittard. The selection of food and beverage options is much better including Nando's, Tapas Revolution and Joe and the Juice. There's plenty of other options, including a Natwest bank! 4* - I do think the loss of John Lewis is going to hit Grand Central hard, it's sad to see such a huge empty unit in such a cool building, but it is a great place in the city which many tourists and locals alike are sure to visit, by choice or by chance.
