The staff are super rude and their services are absolutely disgusting. They don't know how to speak to people, behave like some savages to you and treat you like some animals. The staff needs to be trained mainly how to speak to people in the first place, then manners then customer service. Disgusting service.

Not great. This is a dated and unloved hotel. Needs a refurb and some tlc. Our room was grim. Worn carpet, chipped paint and air vents dirty. I should have noted poor previous reviews. The two pluses are free car parking and location to city centre. It's an old saying but applies here, you get what you pay for. It was cheap but not cheerful.

We booked for my son to stay as he was visiting from Kent. We heard the hotel was being taken over for refugees so we checked this out back in September. We visited in person to speak to the manager face to face to get answers. We were told that it would unlikely affect any bookings in November. Despite this?.my son and half a dozen other people had their bookings cancelled with no prior warning. The hotel said they previously sent an email with an update on all bookings but this did not happen and they have no email copy to back this up.Stay clear! Communication is non existent and they lie to guests!Thankfully all the guests from my family and friends managed to book elsewhere.

Have visited this quaint lovely hotel for a medium event in 2018and 2019. Last night was saddened to find the hotel closed. We still used the room at the side, but had to go in a different way as the hotel is now closed, it is housing Syrians or Afghans. The bar was closed and there were gangs of lads outside smoking sitting on benches and we werent allowed in the main hotel bit. Such a waste of a lovely hotel.

I was there for first aid course with st. John's ambulance. The conference room was pretty basic and had one toilet which had steps which were unmarked almost fell over

I know the hotel cannot helpClosing due to COVID-19 but I was not told the hotel was isolating so a party of 4 drove 125 miles to be told we had nowhere to stay. We were told we were being transferred to another hotel but that was a total fabrication as the next hotel said they had not been informed and had no rooms and we were actually left standing on the pavement with our suitcases . The rugby hotel then refused to pick up the phone. Even isolating hotels are allowed to use the phone to deal with the problems but they simply refused to answer. I did not receive the refund that was promised and booking.com don?t answer the phone so the whole intended birthday treat was an utter disaster and we had no help. I lost my money, a weekend and had to pay out double again to try and put my guests up elsewhere

A characterful independently run small hotel with lovely wood panelled bar, clean and comfy rooms, friendly staff and soya milk option as part of the breakfast buffet. A great find if working in Rugby- central and a Pizza Express 2 mins away.

The hotel is in a great location right in the centre of the town I'm in room 205 staying from the 29th of october 2020 room OK however due to cornavirus I will have to do my own room make my bed that's OK as I do this at home so no big deal it's simply that they are looking after the staff health and safety which is important and of course some guests might not like it well lump it as we're having to adapt to what we can and can't do in this horrible time with the virus

I?ve stayed here previously for business before lockdown began, the rooms felt tired and a little dated but provisions were adequate. I returned this month and they?ve definitely made some improvements- fresh modern decoration and replaced the linen too. Was quite impressed with the Covid literature about the place and procedures seem to all be in place. The lady on reception was helpful and polite.

Holly shoot, where do I even start... 1) The window overlooks a beautiful view of a DEAD PIGEON hanging on a net (see the picture). 2) The hallways smell like a urinal and there are flies all over the place. 3) They locked the door at 11pm, so no chance you'll get out at night. Reception is also empty, there's literally no one. 4) No AC, no fridge. 5) They don't change smoke alarm batteries, so neighbouring rooms were beeping the whole night (again, no one to report to, since there is no reception and they won't pick up the phone). 6) Furniture is really worn out. 7) It costs £60-79 per room too. Stay at your own risk.

I arrived at The Rugby hotel staying for 5 days for a works course to be told I was the only guest ( I now understand why) I was shown to a very claustrophobic room you could literally touch the opposite wall lying in your bed. I complained and was moved to a slightly bigger room that did not have a functioning TV I reported this but it was not replaced all week. The breakfast was awful cremated sausages and cold beans I asked for omelette afterwards which was made for me. Please if you value your sanity do not stay at this hotel

Privately hired the Horseshoes Bar (in the Rugby Hotel) for a party. The manager and team were all very helpful and flexible with menu choices and party options. The food, music and bar all ran smoothly on the night. A great place to hold a party!

Wish I had booked premier inn for same price, at least it would have been clean and fresh. This hotel is very run down, needs a good paint and general refurb. Windows need replacing (rotten and no paint left) along with bathrooms, carpets and furniture! The window frame had no paint left on it and the toilet seat was stained yellow. Taps had black scum around them. These are very easy things to put right!! I don?t understand why management think this is acceptable for paying customers. Windows are single glazed and concertina type so very noisy. Didn?t sleep at all, I really would avoid and book elsewhere! :-(

Cheap and cheerful, exactly what we needed for a long weekend. The decor throughout was old and rustic, but not in any way bad. Staff were lovely. The only thing was that the walls were paper thin, so we could hear EVERYTHING from the other rooms. I know that's just what old buildings are like, so it wasn't a massive negative. Overall, great experience.
