“Shame they have changed so much and dictate the way we shop now. Best yo shop online. Staff always so friendly and kind. But too many brands and it seems Marks and Spencers is becoming like next too.”

“All products always nicely displayed. Lots of choice at much lower prices. Clean well kept store with an element of quality and an air of good management. “It has a decent amount of variety of stock and is a fair price. Most fruit and veg last well - but never the green beans - what's that about?! Dried cous-cous comes in a cardboard box, not single-use plastic - I like that.Their changing weeks means you can't always get what you like food-wise but chances are it'll come back again.Talking of "it'll come back again" - OMG - how long were they out of regular Oat Milk for recently?! That was shocking.It's not too busy (don't be fooled by the car park - once I couldn't park there due to a funeral in the nearby church - when I went in there were only 3 people in the shop!).Staff are either friendly or amusing.Always and I mean ALWAYS something that says it's on offer (like 2 for £3) or something that's priced wrong on the shelf. And they will NOT refund for this like other shops - claiming it's priced elsewhere - well then - keep your shop in line with the central pricing system please.Worth getting the Lidl app - even if it's just for the free bakery item after spending £50 in a month.”

“A large Home Bargains shop selling the usual variety of items you would expect from Home Bargains. They stock a variety of toiletries, cleaning products and other household essentials as well as toys and pet supplies. They also sell a wide range of food items including cupboard staples and a selection of fresh and frozen items.At the time of our most recent visit they had a fairly large selection of Christmas decorations and other festive items. At other times of year they also stock other seasonal items in this area.There is a large car park outside this shop and there were plenty of spaces when we visited. There are also some disabled parking spaces located near the shop entrance”

“Great supper market. Has lots of parking including accessible parking. Has a cafe upstairs with lots of seating. The supermarket is clean and well lit. The day we’ve visited the supermarket the lift was out of order which can happen but the annoying thing was the lift was left open and made a horrid high pitched noise which wasn’t great while sitting in the cafe. But usually isn’t like this.”

“I realy like this shop so many products i bought pack of 12 beef burgers i think just over £2.00 some magnum ice lollys and milk and bacon oh ye burger buns woops diets looking sad. Plenty of parking and disabled spaces wide isles and as its near plenty of shops inc asda living boots and many many more with an abundance of restraunts and massive leasure complexes including a huge multi screen cinema this large complex is definately well worth a visit for sure”

“Predictable goods and services as with any Lidl. Staff always pleasant. VERY near to Newport city centre but don't be tempted to use it's free parking for other locations unless you can stick to their parking rules - the time limit penalties are strictly monitored remotely.”

“It's a pretty decent, relatively new store with loads of parking (hence the score)... You'd think being in Newport it would attract a slightly better clientele, but it doesn't unfortunately. Lots of ignorant people. A friend of ours was also pick pocketed here after bumping in to some eastern Europeans right outside the door, so watch your belongings.”

“Great place to go if you like no name brands that taste the same without paying Tesco prices and need to pick up a hot tub a fire pit and a pair of German work trousers while your out.”

“They had very nice & friendly employees there ! I wanted to get those shopping bags with Welsh flag print on & I thought they sold those ! The cashier lady asked another lady for me & she told me that was Aldi. Sadly ,I couldn't go there as it was out of my itineraries !! ( but,got different one at a souvenir shop in Saundersfoot !! A nice lady told me where she got it ! ) I bought bottles of water & some candies .A nice shop ,very affordable prices & very good services. ? This was in late August .”

“A good supermarket for different quality products. Really pleased that Waitrose has managed to keep its meat and fish counters operating with a good discount for Waitrose card holders.A friendly store with a limited choice of quality products but enough to have some choice of tasty food choices! A free car park , extensive wine and bakery choice , handy to pop into. Some occasional bargins often a bit more expensive than the other supermarkets.”

“Loads of great prices and a great range of products middle sections had a veryed range of stuff from gardening to tools to kids toys well worth a look they change the middle section on Thursdays I think so new thinks to look at each week.”

“I sometimes go there to get a freebie. My last visit I got a chicken worth £6.50 free with my Vodafone app. I prefer the Morrisons in lake over this Newport branch, but it’s still a good supermarket with plenty of disabled parking and wheelchair ♿️ access.”

“Approx four months back, a medium sized Chicken was £4:00.It was increased to £4:25 approx 6 - 7 weeks back. Went in there today, Friday 7th September, to purchase another medium size Chicken. It has been increased by a staggering £1:75 to £6:00. Many items have increased in price more than once but what a staggering price increase of £1:75EDIT:Having just raised the issue with M&S, the batch of Chickens in store were wrongly priced. I've been issued with a code for a £1:75p refund”

“Small store by comparison, fresh bread and pastry products, fresh vegetables, raw meats and ready meals, alcohol and tobacco, milk, coffee, Tea bags, scratch cards and newspapers are all sold here. Some prices are at premium. Well situated.”

“My time in the shop is ok ,it's got everything you need. Although the shop is small they have managed to fit most of what people want it passes the test. Only gripe since I lost my Tesco card is I get no nock downs that a card will give me . That is not good so how do I replace my card.......”

“Has manned tills and good customer service. Parking not very well laid out and causes conflicting vehicular movements, but to be expected on such a small site. Easier to park on a nearby road and walk a short distance to the store at busy periods. Overall a great local store.”

“A convenience store which is a decent size with a comprehensive range, slightly more expensive than its bigger family but that is reasonable enough. The team are industrious and friendly, the shop standards reflect this. A useful cashpoint is just outside.Parking is difficult as it is so busy.Security on the door and staff wearing body cameras is so so sad, I feel very sorry that the team have had to resort to these measures and I hope they are kept safe.”

“Very good range of products. Had everything I needed at a reasonable price. Also has an Argos attached which is useful but I did not need this time.The staff are also very helpful. When I got tonthe checkout I realised I had leftvmybwallet at home (thankfully only a 5 minute walk). The assistant on the self service till, Bea, put my shopping to one side and when I returned gave me a receipt that meant I didn't have to scan the shopping again. Top marks to Bea.”

“I visited the store on a wet Wednesday evening and was delighted to find so many happy smiling staff throughout the store.I formed the opinion that the boss must be on holiday and went so far as to ask one of the supervisors if that was the case.I needed help as I was shopping for a lady who was not with me one of the staff assisted in holding up a dress so I could take a picture of it. She even offered to model it for me if necessary.As I say, it was a miserable wet Wednesday evening but I left the store with a spring in my step because of how well I was treated and received by some really first class retail professionals.I only managed to get the names of two of the staff Lauren and Natalia who were themselves exemplary but there were many others who were a complete credit to the organisation.That was most definitely a warm welcome in this particular Valley.”

“Nice local clean and tidy store with a large variety of essentials, car parking at the front of the store is limited and can be full at busy times. There is a post office at the rear of the store. The staff are all friendly and helpful.”
