Twice I've tried to pay money in at 2.30pm and you've been closed despite hours showing on website as 3pm. Either you're a bank or not!One member of staff on counter serving a queue whilst two members of staff direct you to the machines.No way to treat customers!

Poor experience at the Newport branch with absolutely no enthusiasm from staff to address.Tried to deposit cash and was told that they could not accept because till was full. Had to get them to explain three times as I did not understand that a bank was refusing to take money. They suggested that there was no room for coins and I should go to the post office or come back tomorrow.I asked to speak with the manager who repeated same story with the addition that they had had a nightmare day with people bringing money to deposit! You are a bank - taking money would seem to be the business you are in. I asked about the complaint procedure only to be told that I would need to look it up online. The online form is a chatbot.Had a Santander savings and current account for ten years and seen the de-investment in basic services and move to sell financial products. I will look to move my accounts to an online bank as the high street is going to see the end of branches shortly.

Unhelpful. You can't even open a bank account without booking online even though there were people working and available. Banks have become faceless and useless. No more do you have a local helpful branch.

After checking the opening times today (9:30-16:30) I asked a friend to look after my son so I could go into the Newport branch. I arrived just after 14:00 to find the branch closed and a photocopied opening times list showing it is only open 10-14:00.Why is it too much trouble for them to update the opening times online? They don't mind me wasting my time and money on a twelve mile round trip but can't be bothered to provide the most basic of services.How am I supposed to know the branch isn't open until I get there if they only put their opening hours on the door?Let's be honest, I've put more effort into this review than Santander have in keeping their customers updated.

I am not sure of the gentleman?s name but today (14/10/2020) a stranger was following me through the city Centre and videoing/ taking pictures of me. The gentleman allowed me to wait in the back room until is was safe to come back out. He watched me walk down the high street to ensure I was safe. I would like to say thank you so much to this man. He is an asset to the bank.
