Tesco as company are, in my opinion (having worked for them) are probably the most hated company (banks not included) in Britain but Tesco Cowbridge is a great place to do your Shopping. Staff are helpful and very friendly.

As with most of the shops in Cowbridge, due to an idiotic bylaw, you can't buy alcohol on Fridays or Saturdays if you're under 21.

There was a lot of protest locally before this Tesco Express opened. Cowbridge prides itself on being a town of upmarket specialist shops and there were fears that Tesco would not only lower the tone, but that it could force small independent retailers to close. There were petitions to the local authority, letters to the press and there was even talk of a boycott. However, wind forward to the present, and most people would agree that Tesco's have made the other supermarket in the town sit up and improve its service. Visitor traffic to Cowbridge does not seem noticeably less high brow and the independent food retailers still have e loyal following. So, thumbs up from me for this Tesco Express. It has widened local choice, not narrowed it.
