If Brunton Lane is as good as mine in Washington people should realise IT IS expensive to use for essential oils to try to help yourself. Essential oils last 2yrs after opening, 150 drops in bottle, 15 or 19 drops per mix each time, ie 100mls base oil or 150mls fragrance free base cream to blend. After taking to Aromatherapy I now do it but oils last about 2years each working out cheaper than all prescriptions approx £5-6 per month for repeats.

Helped me with my queries to find the right items I wanted

I have honestly never in my life come across such horrible customer service. Ian, the manager, is a disgraceful bully who clearly leads the way in teaching his staff how to bully customers. All I wanted to do was browse and buy a couple of items but after a long chastisement for being at the â??wrongâ?? till (no till closed sign), the female assistant then yelling and waking my sleeping baby, Ian cane over and reduced me to tears. They are utterly horrible people and a disgrace to Holland & Barrett.

This branch of Holland and Barrett (H&B) is located in Eldon Square in Newcastle Upon Tyne, it is one of two branches in such a small area, hence it is easy to confuse the two, however, this is the larger, and more modern branch, located in the shopping centre. The store does have a decent and more modern feel to it, especially when compared to older branches of the chain, such as the ones located in small towns such as Middleton and Oldham, both of them being in the North West and Greater Manchester area closer to my home. Back to this branch - located in Newcastle's Eldon Square, it is in a good location and is quite easy to find. The staff around the store seemed average, and so did the overall store selection, this store for me seemed similar to the "new" branch in Manchester, yet the selection wasn't as large and did lack a bit compared to that store. This is a health food store, and some of the products stocked here are even stocked in some supermarkets, those products did seem a little high-end in pricing, which was a shame. A high two-star rating due to the store being modern and having a decent feel, but selection at times, with gluten-free letting them down (health stores should do better for this), and issues with pricing and other things discussed in this review mean I feel this branch deserves just a two-star rating.

Really helpful and knowledgeable staff. The manager has been supportive throughout my bout of ill health.
