After being a customer for years, I am done with Goldsmiths. In October I left my ring for a completely routine and normal servicing that was quoted for a 2 week turnaround. It came back with flaws and had to be resubmitted three times - with new and different quality problems each time they handled it. Once it had a glob of extra molten metal stuck to the side. Then, they just roughly scraped that glob off leaving a rough textured patch where it was - maybe thinking I just wouldn?t notice..!? After they corrected that, then I finally got it back and found the claws set so high they snagged on everything (which is detrimental to all my clothing but also to the integrity of the claws over time)! So another month?s wait to fix that. All this experience showed me is that they have no procedure to check over sloppy work, just rushing through jobs without care. During this process goldsmiths failed to keep me updated on their wildly changing timing estimates. I was the one calling in after the quoted period each time, several times just to be told they had delayed the timeframe in their system by weeks longer for no reason, and no one ever called to tell me of the changes, just left me wondering if they had lost my sentimental item. In February I have finally collected it: so 4 months to finish a simple / routine job. No matter what condition it came back with this time (I fully expected it to come back botched again) I had already decided to not trust them to try again, and planned to take it elsewhere for proper corrections. This whole experience was so stressful and disappointing.

After ringing the new store to confirm they could remove a couple of links out of a new watch,I was greeted by a professional friendly lady who went out of her way to help,great service and it?s nice she had a great sense of humour I?d definitely return to the store in the future thanks again?

Popped in for a minor watch strap repair and I just wanted to say the service I received from from Josh was outstanding. I also chatted to other members of staff, Helen and Emily, who are a credit to the business , they couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Thank you and hope to see you again .

Can?t recommend the store highly enough, had my watch sent back to Rolex as there was a slight issue with the watch (manufacturing issue) and was kept up to date with regards to how long would take to return from Rolex. Special thanks to Kamal for making it a seamless fix!

Well would I use them again a resounding NO.Dropped a Rolex in for service MO the service manager managed to allocate the watch to the wrong person and address. ? If the other person had arrived would they have been given my watch!!!!.Estimated return date missed by 2 weeks even though paperwork stated 24th estimated. This is an interesting idea in watch servicing maybe rather than an estimated date just say how long is a piece of string to customers far more accurate.Finally sales service is abysmalOn dropping the watch in I said can I see your selection of similar but none Rolex watches as I would have bought one to fill in till the 24th we don't have any was the reply. So another jewelers got my £££ for a Seiko to fill in with. Abissmall and so sad Newcastle's once premier jewelers has declined so much.

Bought a pair of earrings with a clasp that keeps coming loose. They tried to repair once, but same problem reoccurred a week later. Was advised that it is the nature of gold and there isn't much they can do. They will send to their 'inhouse' assessor but probably can't do anything. Don't seem to understand the difference between not being able to return due to hygiene and returning faulty goods.

These guys are top of the game. No matter what you?re looking for all the staff are so helpful and approachable from the moment you walk in. It?s that touch that takes it from very good to five star! I mostly deal with Kamal, whose attitude is impeccable, but thought I?d ?shout-out? the rest of the guys in there also as it?s such a good team!

Top service on purchasing a dream watch a little bit of a wait not goldsmiths fault just the way it is . Received a phone call from Vicky on Wednesday afternoon informing me the good news that my watch had been delivered to store . Appointment made for Saturday arrived in store greeted by friendly and welcoming staff Vicky brought the watch to inspect and deal with the purchase . The watch was sized for me and a nice touch was that she also removed links from my wife?s watch which was not purchased from them . Great service a big thanks to the team for a helping me with my purchase and making me a very happy customer looking forward to my next one .

Exceptional service from Kamal and the rest of the team at the Northern Goldsmiths store in Newcastle. They ensure the whole experience is a memorable one and their attention to detail can?t be faulted.Kamal is not only knowledgeable about the products he sells but it?s clear he has a passion for watches.
