Poor experience. At the end of appointment wasn?t told my prescription, instead they tried to Just sell me verifocals. I asked what my prescription was and very unclear and they couldn?t actually give me my prescription as it needed to be signed off by the Director - who hadn?t seen me - and wasn?t in. So hopefully I will get in the post. Without asking anything about my diet also told me I needed to eat more broccoli. I have no confidence so I will be paying again to have my eyes retested elsewhereUpdate - They did get in touch and offer a new test which I declined but they still haven?t sent me my prescription. My employer paid for my test so I?m going to let them have the feedback for when they are reviewing the contract and I will pay for one at M&S opticians.If the Blaydon Manager reads this, please just send me my prescription as promised twice now - you have my details so please don?t ask me to contact you again.

I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received during my recent appointment at the store. Despite booking a contact lens appointment online, I was given misleading information by Naz. He assured me that my eye test could be fit into the schedule with just a 10-minute wait and insisted I needed another eye test, despite being only 7 days overdue. After nearly half an hour of waiting without any reassurance of being seen, I had to speak with the Store Manager (who is really lovely, by the way) to cancel my appointment due to prior commitments. Suddenly, after the manager's intervention, Naz was able to accommodate me for an eye test and contact lens consultation. This inconsistency and lack of transparency in service are completely unacceptable. If I had been given an accurate waiting time, I would have rearranged my schedule accordingly. Unfortunately, I had to endure the uncertainty of waiting without reassurance.

Thanks to the team at Blaydon SpecsSavers I got two new pairs of varifocals. Excellent customer service? Great diagnostic tests and tailored prescription, fantastic support with frame and lense choices, working out costs, discounts and fitting. All round brilliant service. ?

I visited this Specsavers store on Thursday 28th December and was horrified and appalled by the level of customer service received.I worked for Specsavers for many years as part of the professional team. Both as a GOC registered Dispensing Optician and as a manager of a store.I called into the Blaydon store as my frame, under 12 months old, had snapped at the bridge. I was first told that the guarantee period was only 3 months. I pointed out that this was not correct. I was then told that as they were not supplied by the Blaydon store I would have to pay £44.50. Where this figure came from I have no idea. Again I pointed out that this was not correct. Under Store to Store protocol, all customers should be treated as if from their store.Neither member of staff that I had dealings with wore a name badge and were not in uniform. They were also very rude.There was no manager available and I left feeling both extremely cross and also upset that Specsavers as a brand is being terribly let down by this store.
