Terrible bank, slow service nothing done in an orderly manner. Spent half a hour waiting for a small line to move

NatWest is an appalling bank (not necessarily Guildford branch)! Tried 4 or 5 times to switch from Lloyds to NatWest Premium black account. On 5th try it eventually switched to a basic one. Been trying now for 2 weeks to get the account I needed and just been told they can?t change it. The most incompetent and ineffectual bank I?ve ever known! I think they?ll be losing a premium customer before they ever even managed to get me as one (due to their never ending blunders)

Farcical experience. It?s as if NatWest have forgotten people work Monday to Friday. Joined the queue on Saturday morning - not clear at all how to join this in the first place . Time ran out before I could see anyone. They only had 2 staff members handling customers. The bank is closed on Sundays. Do not join this bank.

I am returning to the UK after years abroad. I had issues with the online banking app blocking various activities. A meeting was immediately arranged by the front desk staff with a Senior Personal Banker, who went through my total banking needs and reorganised as required. I do not normally write reviews, but one is fully deserved here. A truly excellent experience.

Staff are friendly, but when you walk in with a basic request they tell you to ring the call centre?.I?m in the branch because the call centre takes 40 mins to reach!!! Waste of time.

Why advertise as 'open on Saturday' when all this means is a couple of staff members loitering near the cash machines. I'm sure most customers are capable of using ATMs unassisted by now (plus, more efficiently if not hindered by the staff's valueless pleasantries), however it would be much more helpful to have a counter or two open. Awarded two stars simply because it was raining outside, and using the indoors ATM was some consolation in light of the overall negative experience.

Never any confidentiality when you go there. Similar to the one they had in Woodbridge Road (as much as it was an inconvenience that branch closed, I don't like going into either but if there's just 1 I can't split it I have to go to see the same people constantly). As for the bank itself, I've never liked it and have planned changing banks for ages now and will do.They constantly block your card whenever you try and pay for something (including very familiar types of transactions to what you've done for a long time) so you have to waste time and money calling them to unblock it.It's been closed when other banks I notice are open when I've needed to put money in.If your phone is out of service there's a good chance you can't do any online banking with NatWest as well. Even if you have a laptop or you have a phone which you can only use wi-fi on and won't receive the code it sends to your phone which won't actually send. Also, other banks allow you to do certain things without card readers, NatWest doesn't. So if you don't have a card reader or never use it you have to go into the land of no confidentiality to do what you need to do.

Dire. One person serving at lunchtime. I waited well over half an hour. The message we are getting from the Banks is ' dont bother us'. I have banked with the same Bank since the sixties. They are not interested in serving customers, they just want to force us to do everything online. It's not good enough. If they really don't care someone else should move in and take their business. It's a disgrace. It's not the staffs fault. The Banks see customers as a nuisance. Fine until you need to go and see someone, and this appalling attitude is the result

They must be one of the worst banks going .The staff stand about with there hands in they pockets chatting to each other when customers are queuing up with one person behind a desk.being unhelpful.

I would have given 0 stars if I had this option. I had a very bad experience today in Natwest Guildford branch. I am not a customer of this bank and I will never be but I had to pay my final bill for electricity and gas and I needed the receipt for that and that's why I went in the branch. As I go inside I notice few machines inside the bank which I want sure I can withdraw cash so, I see the first person who works in the bank, on one of the small offices from the entrance texting on her phone, so I apologise to interrupt but before I even start my question she just sends me to her colleagues as she is not doing hosting , even so I asked her if i could withdraw cash from those machines, she just tells me on a very bored tone that yes you can. I was clearly disturbing her while she was on her phone. I need to.mention it was around 4:30 PM, 30 minutes before the bank closes.

Appalling service, banked with natwest for over 15 years. Had some jumped up salesman from this branch threaten me over the phone about a £2000 loan! Told me my loan will not be released till I explained myself haha! I hung up on him in the end and 40mins later it appeared in my account wth ! I expect this pushy approach if a I was haggling for a car not a reputable bank!

Lots of complexity switching banks, given incorrect information by their own switching team leading to confusion and me doing a lot of my own unnecessary correspondence, took them 14 days to get my online access fully set up and now two months in I find that despite getting a statement at the end of April I am on quarterly statements. Best they can do is put me on monthly statements (which I asked for when the account was opened) and I will have to wait until next week. And the online banking doesn't work well on Safari: you have to remember to open a Private Browsing window.
