Have just returned home after a 4 night stay at Alder Country Park. The check in process was really easy, we completed our forms the day before and sent them back by email, so when we arrived it was just a case of collecting our key from reception. We were given a map to our lodge, and it was easy to find with a good sized car parking space. First impressions of our lodge (Deluxe Spa Pet) were really good, it was a generous size and clean. In the kitchen area there was a washing machine and a dishwasher - tablets for the dishwasher were provided (6) but no detergent for the washing machine. There was also some dishcloths and a spare dustbin bag. We were given a bath towel and hand towel each, but as there were just the two of us it did mean that we had spares. I did find the mattress to be a little uncomfortable however I still slept well. In the master bedroom there were two wardrobes with mirrored doors, each had a shelf and hanging area with a few coat hangers. The twin room also had a good sized wardrobe. There was a iron and ironing board in one of the storage cupboards in the hallway. The hot tub worked very well and maintenance checked on it daily. Although there was a washing machine, there was nowhere to dry things, we ended up hanging towels out on the decking area. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and cutlery, although a few extra pans would have been useful, also the grill pan didn't have a wire rack with it so couldn't really be used. I would have liked a cafetiere to be provided too as I don't like instant coffee. Both showers had issues with the shower riser which meant it was awkward to get the shower head into a good position when taking a shower. There is a swimming pool and gym on site which you can book for 45 minute slots although we didn't make use of them. The site also has a restaurant called The Olive Tree but it was only open from Wednesday to Sunday so we didn't use it. In the town of North Walsham there is a Sainsbury and Lidl, plus plenty of cafes. The only negatives were due to Covid we weren't allowed to check in until 17:00 on the Monday and had to check out by 09:00 on the Friday.

Recently stayed for 4 nights with family. Park is quiet and close to supermarkets. Restaurant on site was fairly good. However concerned at the level of cleanliness in the lodge. The information pack provided on arrival stated that the lodge had been 'deep cleaned' and sanitised. It may well have been sanitised but I question the deep cleaning as per images below. Cobwebs all over the windows above the curtains, dead flies, spiders....dust all along the edges of the tiles in both bathrooms. Not what I'd expect from Hoseasons.

Well were do I start!!!!! We were meant to be arriving here on Monday 6th September to Friday 10th September. This is not about the resort as we never got to come so I cannot comment on that, however we received a phone call today from a relocation team company, basically saying that they have been trying to contact my mum by phone regarding her booking I can say that my mum did not receive any phone call from these so they send an email last night to which my mum asked me for help with today. This said to contact the office regarding our booking now considering that we were suppose to arrive on Monday 6th September for a chap called Gary to inform us that our lodge was going to have to shut because of maintenance issues now I?m not being funny but we booked this a good few months before and this news was just shocking as it was a holiday to celebrate my mums 70th birthday. Basically we were told it would have to be cancelled and we would get a full refund of what we paid, plus eventually compensation. So overall this company alder country park in north walsham had no availability at the park and wouldn?t even attempt to give us other accommodation totally discusting customer service who haven?t even got the decency to phone you directly to inform you off this. Defo do not book this site they do not deserve to have anyone staying here if that is how they treat there customers. So just like to finish with thank you so much for ruining a 70th birthday as we also had activities book for the 4 days we were there. Utterly disgusted and will give my money to another company who deserve and appreciate it

We have just returned from a 1 week stay at Alder CP. We had a really good time! We had booked a ?simple? lodge (other lodges were way to expensive and out of budget) however they upgraded us due to maintenance issues. We stayed in a beautiful, spotless, luxurious lodge, with all we needed to have a good stay away from home (dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, microwave, oven?), a bathroom, an ensuite and a jacuzzi. Even dishwasher tablets were included. Netflix was also available so we could watch something as a family - however we could not accept BBC iplayer due to password protected. The lodge was at the end of the park, nice and quiet, perfect place to relax! On site there is a heated pool, a gym, a sauna (not opened unfortunately!!) and a restaurant. The staff was really lovely and helpful, especially the gentleman who was there ?out if hours?. He helped us on our arrival day as we had an issue in the lodge (office was closed, it closes it 7pm). Although busy, he always having a chat with us. Sainsbury?s is 5 min away drive, 15 min walk away. Pub also available in front of the park Norwich is not far and highly recommended (we used Park & Ride). Cromer beach was lovely and only 20 min drive. Negatives: - about the lodge: the extractor in the kitchen was unusable as the wooden door was screwed into the kitchen unit, so every time we cooked bacon, the smoke alarm was on!! Also, if you do stay there and are planning to have fried eggs, bacon etc? bring your own pan. The single one there is useless? - about the pool: you need to book at reception before going. One session is only 45 min long. - sauna available on site however it was not open? - North Walsham: there is nothing to do.

Checked in on Friday checked out on Tuesday it was that bad!. This place was filthy, black mould all over the shower which also stank of damp, Cupboards had hair and filth in them and and the electrical equipment tests were 3 months out of date. Park full so nowhere else to go and they blamed Hoseasons for forcing them to sell holidays and not do the required maintenance. Lots of other people complaining week in week out. Washing machine unusable because of the putrid smell coming from it. Only decent thing was the hot tub which was also dirty but at least full of chemicals! We were in a Signature lodge so hate to think what the more budget ones would have been like. Tp be fair to the company and Hoseasons they did give us a refund but still turned a week off into a nightmare.

Lounging back in my hot tub here, gazing up at the night sky listening to the gentle rustle of the warm evening air blowing thru the leaves of the old oaks, elms and chestnuts. Perfect ð???

Took advantage of a free couple of nights stay at this lodge park. Perhaps I chose the wrong time of year as the area felt a little bleak. The â??forestâ?? was bare leaf trees and the landscape very flat and foggy. Inside the lodge was lovely and cosy whilst snow fell outside on my first night. Lodges are very well appointed and the decor was very hygge once I lit my candles. Great place to stay with family and friends.
