Busy canalside cafe with good food. Farm shop is really good next door. Great staff.

I first came here last year in 2023 and really loved the breakfast here. We came back today and the breakfast was not as great as it was before. The sausage and bacon seemed to have shrunk. The drinks are quite pricey too to think it?s only a regular sized one. I also tried the Easter cake which is nice. Service was still great though and the cafe it self was clean and tidy.

NOT AS ADVERTISED ON THE WEBSITE. SEE PHOTOS.The changes made to the afternoon tea menu has really brought down the standard that we have come accustomed to.I fully understand that in the current financial climate, cost cutting changes have been made. However, we would much rather pay more to receive the higher standard food. The sausage rolls and pork pie feel like a cut too far. The pork pie is like Lidl basic range. The sausage roll is no where near the quality that came from the farm shop supplied. The scotch egg was also a very welcome addition to the previous menu. There does seem to be larger amount of sponge cakes supplied, but we all don't have large sweet tooth and the previous menu was a lot better balanced this way. The previous smaller cakes where better and a had better variation. We've ended up with taking away 4 boxes of cakes that we really don't want. Also, the quiche adds nothing to the whole tea. It might as well not be there. We tried to raise these issues but the staff seem to be far too stressed and under too much pressure. Also, with the missing items we also wondered if the scones had been "dropped". Only to find out it wasn't brought over because of the table size. It would have been nice to be told that from the beginning and not having to ask (almost as if we didn?t ask, we wouldn?t have got them). We like the main (a la carte) menu much better and it feels such a shame that the afternoon tea seems to be second best to it. Almost a "budget option" now.The whole experience has left a sour taste in our mouth ending up with us taking away 4 boxes of cakes that we really don't want.Update:We ended up with rough stomach?s after only having the 3 sandwiches.

I came because we believed it was dog friendly. It isn't. No dogs sign displayed on the door so we went elsewhere. Someone on the car park recommended Wolseley Garden Centre cafe and they couldn't do enough for us and our puppy. Very disappointed.

Shop has some unusual food items and good quality. Had breakfast in the cafe, long wait and a bit pricey for what you get. But the new bakery is excellent. The fruit and veg is really fresh and good quality, definately worth the extra.... ?

Met friends here for a great brunch - good choice inc veggie options. Dogs aren't allowed in main cafe but there is a separate food tent for those eating with dogs.

What an amazing place, something for everyone. We visited the shop which was fabulous but the market was definitely not to be beaten so many handmade goods and set out so beautifully. I am on the list to have a stall with my handmade dehydrated pet treats www.pawfectbakes.co.uk I cant wait. We also visited the cafe for lunch and the oatcakes were second to none. The organisation and car parking was spot on, so many car park attendants made parking a doddle. Thank you Anna and staff you are doing a great job. Jan at Pawfect Bakes.
