I just love the fact that we were new visitors walked up from the canal. We were warmly welcomed, nice beer so my husband says, I had a spritzer but the place was full of locals all talking to each other. No one on phones.Great place . Keep up the good work.

Cracking ale house in Gnosall. Won a couple of awards. Great selection of ale and cider. The couple who run it are very friendly, as are the locals. It?s cash only so bring some money. A very kind local bought me a pint as i had no cash on me. They like a pint round these parts.Thank you again! Has pork pies and batches I think? Very highly recommended ?

This a a great micro pub , serving a good selection of ales and ciders , bars food consist of great home made sausage rolls and premium snacks. Friendly staff and locals , no fruit machines music or distractions, just beer and conversation, rare in this day and age. The review below headlined "disappointed " is referring to a pub over the road in the same village named "The Horns" the George doest sell meals such as fish and chips etc

We were a family of 12. Went here because people recommend the Horns. Sorry to say the food wasn't great, 2 members of the family had the fish and chips and the fish had a lot of bones in it not good when you are trying to enjoy your food, Other food was basic and more like home cooked some had a pudding and Couldn't eat it more like shop bought, and got a refund on the fish and pudding. The waiter kept coming for the plates, while some of us were still eating, should wait until everyone finished their food to collect the plates.. Other than that, the staff were friendly and said they were sorry about the fish and puddings. Sorry to say that the first time we had a meal here, so I don't think we will return.

A proper pub with no phones or TV so you have to talk to each other. What a pleasure, well worth the walk from the canal bridge 35.

Lovely little local with friendly staff who know how to treat customers properly. Can get busy on a weekend but that just adds to the lovely atmosphere

Cycle friendly, great selection of beer, cobs available, what more could we ask for. Plenty of interesting items adorning the walls and as table stands all with a story to tell.
