Ideally located. Great staff. All friendly and helpful. Even though it's in the city centre it isn't as noisy as you would

Rooms a bit tired, but still clean and modern, staff friendly, location great for Ponds Forge International Sports Centre and Swimming Pool. Location ok for Sheffield town but involves a shortish uphill walk and hotel area safe but a bit industrial. Q-park multistory car parking next door (but in same building) but hotel staff say to get code from hotel BEFORE entering car park for (?) 50% discount. If not parking here, then a bit tricky to drop off, park etc, one way road system in operation in area. Other car parks in area are Ponds Forge Car Park (apparently locked at night), free on road parking on other side of tram and train lines (but can be dodgy to leave cars at night here and some glass on roads suggest cars have been broken in to) - difficult to get to in car, but easy to walk from. Generally know what you're getting with Travelodge. Poor but usable EE mobile phone signal - 2/3 sticks - also depends where in the hotel you are. Otherwise 30mins free (?per day) WiFi at relatively slow speed or paid WiFi (no idea of speeds). TVs seem to have HDMI ports to allow connecting to laptops if you bring a cable. Sitting area downstairs. Seems to be staffed at night. PONDS FORGE parking charges are as follows: 10 minute free stay. Up to 2 hours £2.00. Up to 4 hours £4.20. Up to 6 hours £5.70. Up to 12 hours £10.20. Up to 24 hours £14.20. Overnight (9pm - 8am) £5.00. I will put a photo of these charges on the ponds forge car park Google entry.Rooms: Tired but clean and comfortable.Safety: Area not great to leave cars at night (unless in secured car park), but feels safe in general to walk with care - maybe slightly dodgy.Walkability: Area was not built with pedestrians in mind and various obstacles like tram and train lines together with Sheffield hills and this is an industrial area, but distance the town isn't actually that far if you use Google maps to navigate.Food & drinks: Hotel has bar and all you can eat breakfast. Also vending machine. Town not too far for eateries there.

Hotel was alright, probably a little more expensive than what it should have been and for what you get. The hotel is basic, but it?s clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, it?s a complete contrast to their sister hotel which we stayed in a month ago at East Midlands airport services. We enjoyed our stay (2nd time here) and would stay again but it?s a shame it wasn?t more affordable as it?s not worth £100 a night. But that?s a sign of the times.Rooms: Clean and very basicNearby activities: Near ponds forge and a ten minute walk to the station so not far at all

Dissapointing to be honest.. looking at the reviews I was hoping that this Travelodge would have been looked after properly and be well-maintined but I am wrong!Check-in was fine, but the lifts smelt horrible like someone had smoked in them (more than likely) and in both lifts there was a random wet floor sign attached to the handrail in the lift. The corridors have the typical travelodge smell but they looked decently clean. On entering the room we could hear a really annoying alarm sound coming from outside which is when we learnt that the window was broken and did not close neither lock which in Sheffield is an absloute disaster although being on the 6th floor I still did not feel save knowing the fact that my window could be just pushed open. It was late and we had an early start the next day so we put up with it but the quality of sleep was drastly reduced by the beeping. The coffee machine in the standard room plus was a bonus and worked very well. The bed was comfortable and the room in general looked to be in good shape. But the water pressure in the bathroom was pathetic it was a trickle which made using the shower a mission. The breakfast was nice though.

Great place for a stay in the city centre. Rooms are good and at a reasonable price.Walkability: It's close to the station and the city centre - lots of bar and restaurant options close to the hotel but its also in a quiet area.

Wouldn't recommend. Despite being on the 5th floor the traffic and tram noise kept me awake as if I were right next to them (not even sure how that's possible?). When I did get to sleep I was woken very early by the pub nearby taking a delivery. Room was ok, clean but basic and tired looking. No plugs or charging points near the bed. Impossible to shower without almost flooding the bathroom. Took a few minutes to check in as nobody was on reception although I was seen by a staff member, who ignored me and proceeded to sit down and have dinner. But worst, charging for WiFi? In 2023? I always stay in budget hotels but honestly can't recall when I was last charged for WiFi, it must be 15+ years ago easily.

Stayed over the weekend to attend an event. Clean rooms. Goid breakfast. Close to tram services. Would not suit a family holiday. Ok, for business travel. Staff were helpful and friendly.
