The pubs OK if you are visiting on foot. For some reason though, the parking rules have once again changed! On a dark wet September evening you will probably not see the signs, informing you that Wetherspoons have 'sold out' their car park, to the infamous euro car parks regime, who only exist to catch unsuspecting people out. The last time I visited, it was free after 7.30pm. Not realising anything had changed, and not having a magnifying glass and torch with which to read the t&c's while standing in the driving rain, we continued to order our meal, without any mention of car parking from the staff (in hindsight I just thought it would have been courteous of them). And returned home to a £75 parking violation invoice. Wetherspoons point blank refuse to get involved on your behalf, although other places with better customer service, will inform parking charlatans that you were a customer and get the invoice waived for you. I'm sure that the signage is just the right side of the legal requirements, but it is obviously not clear enough for a very profitable reason. Apparently the changes are to stop non customers from using the car park, well guess what, it worked. I am now a non customer. I hope they feel it was worth it.

Went for a meal at this wetherspoons. Only to get a £75 parking fine from a private company on behalf of wetherspoons. Poor signage never known anything like it in my life what a scam . Needs signs at the entrance to the car park. Very poor won't be returning

Ordered mixed grill, was very poor compared to other places, felt sorry for my son on seeing this, most went home for the dogs, onion rings were cremated, rock hard, vegan burger ok but limp salad in the bun with some dry chips didn?t look appetising, ordered this food as have ordered elsewhere & was so nice at The Park hotel hillsborough, so disappointing to receive this standard in here, used to come here a lot in the past & thought my last visits dried up vegan curry was maybe a one off but when I think of the speed the food came out I wonder if it was stood around or something, definitely won?t be visiting again for food.

Rude, rude, rude surly staff (not all)? So if you don?t like your job working there, may I suggest finding somewhere else that would be more applicable to people with a bad attitude and a chip on both shoulders?

Really warm welcome from staff and lively pub with scenic views. Busy at 2pm but soon became quieter

We came here for drinks. It is not far from where we live, so we have been in here before. There is a major problem with RATS running around outside, so we would never order food here. We spent a small fortune on drinks here, yesterday morning. I suffer from autism and bowel problems and felt ill so went outside discreetly to a side path and was sick in a dead bush in the garden where the RATS roam. I thought this would be better than doing this inside the pub where the staff would have to clean it up. Some time later, we were finishing our drinks as my brother was going to the football match and the woman who worked there with dark hair tied back and short and plump in stature said we weren't going to be sold any more products as I had been ill. She was very rude about this. This is no way to treat customers who are ill. She also threw my brother's drink away when there was still some left and lied about it! This place is great for wildlife, if you like RATS and rude waitresses. There was also a very rough family who came and sat near us, the parents were wearing tracksuits and the children were running all over the place, dangerous when hot food is being carried out from the kitchen.

I met an ex colleague who I had not seen for several months. It is good for parking-I had walked. We had coffees and teas, very reasonably priced. All in all very pleasant. It was in the morning and pleasantly busy. A good place to meet.

Called in for a Saturday morning breakfast around 11. Pub didn?t seem too busy, breakfast came promptly although the eggs were hard and curling up at the edges, they looked as though they had been sat under the heat light for a while. Mushroom resembled a shriveled up prune, clearly been sat in the hot hold past it?s time. Rest of it was cold. Didn?t want to complain much as the server was lovely, did ask for a new mushroom as the rest was Edible. Came out raw barley cooked on the top. It was clear it had been banged in the microwave for 20 seconds. I?ve worked in a spoons kitchen in Sheffield myself and know it?s not difficult to serve a decent breakfast in a fairly quiet shift. Left disappointed , won?t be returning in a rush.

Staying in the area to visit a family member in hospital. After hospital visiting Friday evening, we called in here to grab a bite to eat. As spoons always are, especially on Friday evenings, the place was rammed. Even though it was busy, staff we still attentive & food & drink were served, via the app, in a timely manner. Food was of good quality, not gourmet dining, but just as you would expect for meal in spoons. We called again Saturday AM for breakfast and were served by a lovely guy named Chris, he took my order at the bar, he brought our food out to us & came to check back. He was very pleasant & polite, definitely an asset to the place. If I am in the area again, I would definitely give this place another visit.

We are staying in Sheffield for the first time visiting hospital and The Francis Newton is just down the road. We visited Friday evening when it was really busy. Service was great and food came really quickly. Portions were great and food was fab. Came back for brekkie and was served by Chris who was a fantastic host who really looked after us. I would recommend for cheap wholesome meals

Called in this Wetherspoons after the hospital for a swift drink. Lovely pub, clean and tidy the staff were lovely they recommended me a lovely pale ale for my shandy and my partner had a pint of carling and all for £4.20 now that's what I call a bargain! Sat in the beer garden in the autumn sun which there was plenty of seating area that goes right round to the other side.. The toilets were clean and tidy there was plenty of hand sanitizer to prevent the spreading of covid. Will definitely be coming back here again

First they?ve recently changed their parking rules, not well advertised and you?re easily caught out, rules changed: previously you presented your parking ticket at the bar and the amount was deducted from your bill, now you put your reg in this pad on the bar for the free parking, not very clear and when mentioning this to the bar, an unfriendly response is what you receive. The change means the pub loses out, but more so the loyal customers. Ppl now come in buy the cheapest item, £1.20 tea, input their reg and get three hours of parking, filling up their car park space for other customers. Food: cold, and cheap products Quality of food and customer service changed no longer as good as I remember, better places to visit

I never or sorry very very rarely write a review on large brands as I generally support independent hospitality businesses as I?m one myself, but having said that credit where credit is due. I?m in this area as my beautiful son is very poorly in Sheffield childrens hospital I take one break a day as I?m in the hospital 24/7 and have been for a while. This has become a safe space for me. The young team running the bar are exceptional and I would would employ them in a nano second I?ve never been one for dining out alone but this place is so spot on for me. I?ve been 5 or 6 times and every time the service has been 1st class It?s a place of safety and comfort to me and I will be eternally grateful When my son recovers from his fractured skull I will be bringing him with my husband to show him where we went on our scheduled tag breaks My husband will be down when I get back. Well done guys. The best example of a weatherspoons I?ve ever encountered
