Me and my friend attended heeley retail costa today. Both with our babies. I had my baby in a sling and my friend had a pram.....
I took a seat at an empty table while she stood in the queue and I was told by a staff member the table was reserved for some people in the queue so I said ok and moved to the next empty table I found. He came over again and said that one was also reserved for people in the queue so feeling confused, I got up again and joined my friend in the queue to explain we were not allowed to sit down at any of the free tables as they were ?reserved? according to the staff member.
My friend had a very hungry baby and so we switched places and she sat down at a free table to feed her baby and he tried to telll her to move but she rightfully refused.
I have never experienced this before, every time I have gone to a costa or any cafe generally I go with a friend. One of us will queue while the other finds a seat and I have never been told the tables are reserved. There were no reserved signs, nobody?s belongings on the tables or a policy that said this anywhere.
I am especially disappointed this happened to two mums with hungry babies. Just as I would have been if it was somebody elderly who very much needed a seat
Two people in the cafe came up and said they thought it was ridiculous, and
One man even gave his number and name as a witness if we needed to make a formal complaint.
Another kind lady also offered to carry my tray of drinks over to the table because I had my baby strapped to my chest she could see I was struggling. Unlike any of the staff members
A lady sat near us said when she arrived she put her coat on an empty table and went to join the queue with no problems at all, she wasn?t told the table was reserved for customers in front of her! So why were we?
It can be very overwhelming to leave the house as a first time mum with an 8 week old baby and this made what was supposed to be an enjoyable day very stressful and embarrassing
I am not normally one to complain but I am shocked at the service as I?ve been going there for a long time and never had any issues like this

We arrived at 3.30 knowing that they were closing to be greeted with 'we will be closing at 4pm' . The barista was more interested with clearing away. I was swerved with a luke warm Ruby hot chocolate, the toastie came, it was OK. Not offered any tissues or spoon to stir the hot chocolate which comprised of mostly froth. Disappointed and waste

It's Costa coffee.\\nIf you go in there looking for a new settee, then you'll be disappointed. But if you want a fine coffee. Then Costa is a strong option ?

Absolutely love Costa it's one of my favourite places. Perfect for a morning/afternoon meet up and a great place for work especially with free wi-fi. Staff at any Costa Coffee are super helpful and the drinks are absolutely amazing. my favourites are the Belgian chocolate and Coffee frostino and a medium Americano.

The place was very quiet hardly anyone in we had to wait for quite a while to get served. The person who served us wasnt very pleasant no customer service skills whatsoever. When I got my coffees and sandwiches they were only just warm but didn't take them back as I have heard people say that the woman who served me is really nasty and rude. I will not be going back to this cafe again!!!!

Horrible experience, the staff got my order wrong and overcharged me, understandable, we all make mistakes, I don't think making two lattes is hard but we all make mistakes, that said the big lad with the scraggly pony tail made fun of my disability and when I asked them if they could correct the mistake I was told no. I could hear them cursing me as I left. Horrible, horrible staff, who could do with some basic training and a good wash. A disgrace.

If you can't provide a safe environment you shouldn't be open. Two staff in today more interested in chatting to each other and not noticing a disgraceful old man who they had allowed to sit on clearly marked no seating area. He walked around the tables three times without a mask on in the 25mins we was there. Stood directly behind my husband and blew his nose and coughed into a scruffy handkerchief which he then place on a seat. When I complained I was told by the staff that they couldn't enforce the rules. Oh yes you can unless you want the place shutting down !

Refused to give me anymore butter for toast. Every other Costa gives me 4 for 2 slices. He would only give me 3 & said I had to pay for anymore

We had a coffee here today (Heeley Retail Park) and I think it's a bit unfair you get charged an extra 25p for the special blend coffee. Also the staff are slow at clearing tables.
