Absolute disgrace. I have had two appointments cancelled over two weeks. I've wasted two mornings coming to the store where I've had to take time off work. I am leaving my employer by the end of the week (a new job). I therefore won't be able to expense the test or glasses any more so I'm now massively out of pocket due to their incompetence. They apologised and tried to reschedule but I've lost all confidence that the appointment will actually happen.

A family member kept receiving ing letters and emails reminding him and telling him to make an appointment but when he tried by phone he was referred to online booking but online booking wouldn't let him book an appointment and referred him to call. We visited the store and the first representative couldn't help as the letter said he required a specific test she apologised and said she was new and still learning so would get someone else. So.eone else turned up but didn't say the first lady had asked for help as the first lady wasnt there so didn't have the observation opportunity to learn and it wasnt until.we said we were waiting for the first lady to get someone e else that she said oh yes that me. I feel they need to work on communication.The eye test my son requires they are unable to perform at their store but the lady.directed us to a different store for that test but said she could book him I for an ordi ary test. We suggested it would be better to get all the tests done at the same store at the same time.This store is my sons usual optician and normally we have excellent service but have to say the staff concerned are.letting their team down on this occasion.We also suggested it would be good if the 2 stores could share my sons previous history and prescriptions and were told they dont normally do that unless the other store asks for them which to me is time wasting as when my son visits the new store they have no base line to refer to , we asked for the data to be shared and all it will do is mean we have to make 2 visits if the other store waits for the data or we start again.Communication is a wondrous thing when performed correctly and can improve customer experience and improve the service received and reduce time spent going over information already held and available .

Fantastic service. I've not had an eye test in 15 years so I was due and I couldn't be happier with the staff and the service. The prices were very good too. I'll certainly be using them again.

The only place I will go for my glasses, been with these since I was young and any attempt at using other opticians has ended poorly.The staff are always friendly and care about their customers.

Yesterday morning I went for my eye test appointment and I've never felt so patronized!! Because I'm on benefits the woman refused to see me unless I provided proof, I tried to log into my universal credit but it was taken ages, she then said they don't have time for this and I would have to rebook!! When I asked why I wasn't told I needed to bring proof she said its not her job and that I should have known this!! How rude!! I then said I'm also exempt from paying because my dad had glaucoma, but she still refused to see me and again told me to rebook! This woman was also the manager of the Catcliffe store that I went to, Samantha Watts. She made me feel so small and belittled, like I was below everyone because I'm on benefits?! I've never had this problem before and drove home in tears. Would it have hurt them to mention when I booked to bring proof of my scruffy benefits!!!! My eye tests are so important because of my dads glaucoma and I have pressure behind my eyes, but now I don't even feel like I want to go back there

absolute disgrace, I've been going here for years but when I went in to make an appointment 01/05/2022 at 10.30am with my mum and my MINIATURE sausage dog when a short lady with dark hair, tied up, came towards me (With big attitude) to tell me that i could not stay in the shop as dogs weren't allowed only guide dogs as someone may be allergic to them!!!! she wasn't wearing a face mask to protect any vulnerable people, and her people skills sounded like she had just pulled them out of a toilet, she was abrupt, rude and very unprofessional, there was no signage anywhere confirming or notifying any customers of NO DOGS ALLOWED either. I WONT be going there again to say the least, and if you don't want to be upset i would advise others to stay away, very unprofessional , I didn't want to even put 1 star

Good covid precautions in place and quick and easy to find my new glasses. I won't buy glasses from anywhere else as I always get great service here.

I had new specs in January this year, and for reasons I didn't understand, I wasn't happy with them. I came back in September, had another eye test, chose new glasses. And although it worked out somewhat expensive, I am 100% happy now. Well done Specsavers.
