I went to Lidl on the 12th of December to do some shopping and check it out. Never been there before. I was there for 45 minutes. I just received a parking ticket from their car park called parkingeye for £90.00!!!!! Will never shop there again.UPDATE: I was contacted by Lidl's Customer Services who managed to cancel the parking ticket. For that I am thankful. They were actually great. So just to avoid having the same problem, please note: ONCE YOU PAY AT THE TILL, YOU MUST SCAN YOUR RECEIPT AT THE PARKING MACHINE WHICH IS BY THE TILLS. YOU MUST ALSO ENTER YOUR CAR REGISTRATION NUMBER. THAT GIVES YOU ENOUGH PARKING TIME TO COMPLETE YOUR SHOPPING.

Obviously short staffed, be ready to wait. The self service is cramped, so if you like your own space, don't go there.

Majority of the time I use Aldi for my grocery shopping. Prices are good, staff are friendly and they have a decent stock. ( some things you have to get in early to buy, such as offers) the best thing I like about the store is that it's local ?

Be ready to be observed at all the time by the security guard and being asked for the receipt after payment to check if paid for everything and all this *without* giving any valid reason.I don't know if this happens just because we are foreigns, because we ask why was that and they just said those were the supermarket protocols but they even refuse to check item by item to confirm everything was correct even when we asked them to do so.Because there was no reason given, the manager and security guard kind of laugh when we ask them politely if that was because we were foreigns, the security guard in his own words told us "look at my skin" but racism is not coming just from certain type of people, can come from any people or skin color.Nor the security guard or manager store were professionals at all, you could see the managers face bothered at us at all time.

Staff are unbelievably ignorant, and uncurtious, to shoppers and I?ve seen arrogance, and worker?s getting frustrated with shoppers, especially when people using self service and somebody needs help, I myself have had this but I just tell them ?this is what your paid to do have some decorum??. I really do believe that this needs attention? This leads me to think that the in charge person, who is on the floor maybe not doing there job right.

It is good to go into but prices have risen, so you have to shop around
