Went in this morning for 2 coffees and 2 cakes. Coffee was undrinkable and cakes tasted old and cheap and they were anything but cheap! Poor. It really needs to up its game as the park is great.

Not very welcoming. The grumpy character serving clearly didn't want to there. He sighed and groaned, rolled his eyes when i told him ( at 4:20pm ) that i had wanted to sit -in and didnt want to take-away.. The website said it was open til 6:00 so i presumed i had plenty of time. I guess he wanted to shut up early and get off home.A wee " hi " ... " how can I help you ?" Or " what would you like " .... even a "thank you" would have been nice but that was never happening with this dude. He didnt engage.Was like being served by Basil Fawlty. A young fella not happy in his work.The coffee was OK but no idea what you guys do the scones. Jeezo. Was inedibleFirst time I've been anywhere with no atmosphere.I won't be back but can actually laugh at it now when I think of the antics of Basil. He was everything that customer care and customer satisfaction is NOT about.Sorry I'm leaving such negative feedback but it's as positive as I can make it.

Rude staff, overpriced, poor food. Closes at 6pm but won't serve food after 4pm because they want to go home early.Avoid like the plague.

Rude staff. Wouldnt let my 3 year old use the toilet even though the public toilets outside were locked. Eventually my daughter was allowed to use the toilet as long as my husband purchased something. Absolute disgrace. I understand there are procedures in place due to covid19, however it is ok to let these slip as long as a purchase has been made. My husband was reminded of these procedures by a member of staff who wasnt wearing a face covering correctly and no social distancing was being observed in the cafe area.

Barshaw Park was very nice and peaceful, it was plesent to sit in the Peace Garden which is at the top corner of the hill and chill out and then have a bite to eat in the Cafe to finish the day.

So when the Rowantree Cafe say it is open to six, what they mean is five thirty. They refused to allow my wife and four year old daughter to make a purchase and use the toilet. They did this in the knowledge that my wife and two children were stranded in the park, awaiting the RAC to come to their assistance, and that there are no public toilets. So, no car, no toilets, no food, no drinks. Thanks for nothing, especially the Manager wumin, who was more interested in getting out the door than serving the public.

Loved the steak pie potatoes and peas as did my hubby. It was delicous. Hot and plenty of it. Will be ordering again. Delivery man was so pleasant. Thank you.

I went to the park today with a work colleague and our kids. My daughter needed to use the toilet and we understand with covid , they need to be cautious about people using them. I was told that they wouldn?t allow her although she was absolutely desperate, unless we dined in. I stated that I would happily buy something but was then informed that their card machine wasn?t working. I didn?t have cash on me and I realise that this is not the cafes fault but the fact that there was only 2 people dining in with no other customers inside, was shocking. To turn away a child who was in tears due to needing the toilet, and being very mean about it, was shameful. I would have happily offered to clean the bathrooms after our visit but we were then ignored and we had no choice but to leave. I would never give this cafe my business with such sour faced employees and despite being told by a good friend who visited with her young child that their visit was less than welcoming, I prefer to have my own personal experience before passing judgement. Luckily, the lovely man at the golf course allowed my daughter to use the facilities to avoid an accident. Your establishment and staff disgust me.

Ordered ice cream cones for my grand kids, my daughter and myself. The cones are £2 each and are small. The lady presented the cones to me and the kids, as I produced my bank card she exclaimed "Oh I'm sorry the bank card is broken we only take cash" I explained that I didn't have cash only for her to promptly remove the cones whilst the kids were watching and flick the ice cream back into the tub...... Any decent person would have given the kids their cones and I could have paid them next time as I visit the park regularly. Poor show.....the kids started crying saying they wanted a cone. Definitely won't give them anymore custom.

Myself and my mother thought it would have been a good idea to go for afternoon tea. There was a Groupon voucher for £12. Happy days seemed reasonable so we thought we'd give that a go. Upon arrival the cafe was dead and it looked pretty decent. So we sat down and we were presented with a small shot glass of soup. One had a layer of grease and no spoons. I assumed we were to just neck this back. Tasting the soup, in all fairness it was nice but there was just all this veg that compacted in the bottom and I couldn't get back. The only way I can describe this was like watching a dog trying to lick the remains out of a peanut butter jar if you were watching me. So already not off to a good start. Then here it came. The afternoon tea. Consisted of ham & cheese sandwiches and Tuna and cucumber, they were OK. Sandwiches are sandwiches. Cakes - Victoria sponge, lemon cake and sticky toffee cake. They were nice but very overcooked and stale Scone, well I guess they left the best to last. This was practically a weapon. Not one scone for each of us... 1/2 a scone between two. The jam. We'll that was just cheap jelly jam and the cream. Not clotted, not whipped... But squirty cream?! Come on this is basic stuff. Clotted cream and a nice conserve. Whilst trying to eat this, I was minding my own business looking out the window and a passer by proceeds to start urinating in front of us. He thinks hes on the sly. Not today sir... I've got a mouthful of hard dry cake and a sightful of old man willy pishing all over the place. This is a f@?king experience and a half. Overall I wouldn't come back again. £12 seems reasonable. Volume of food OK but the quality wasn't there. A scone and tea at half past three, makes the day a little brighter. So you can keep your cakes and fancy tarts.... ..and stick them up your sh! ter.
