I usually don't write these but here it is.Complete lack of transparency when buying monthly lenses!!The shopping assistants did not tell me that I needed to buy 3 months of lenses in advance even thought they are monthly lenses. I thought ok that is just the way this works I accept that.The lady selling the lenses briefly mentioned that if you set up the direct debit you receive after care, lenses, solutions and discounts. GREAT. Never told me the price of it until comes payment time. Never told me what the price is without the direct debit set up. Never told me what is included in the price if I pay as I go. AGAIN I thought that's fine the fine arts of sale the price is not that high and you get the benefits.But the last nail to the coven for me was that the direct debit is not set from the first payment for you lenses you make. It is set up the 1st of closest month after you just payed for your 3months supply in the store.So not only you are not told that you are paying for 3 months in advance you are actually paying for at least 5 months in advance. Not even including your payment for the trial lenses which are also monthly lenses which I wasn't just going to throw away after one week.I was a bit confused about that so I cancelled the direct debit right away and got charged additional 6£ for deciding to pay as I go after all which fair enough changed my mind but it would have been nicer to know the prices before the whole transaction.The most annoying thing is that the advisors and assistance keep telling me that direct debit pays for 3 month in advance so that the lenses are there when you buy them and they are already paid for. That is very missleading because in my opinion if I buy 3 month supply the 1 of April on that day i am charged for 3 month supply.In reality i paid for 1 month trial lenses the 12th of March then I bought 3 months supply the 19th of March and direct debit would charge me for another 3months supply on the 1st of April. So technically on the 1st of April i will have paid for 7 months of lenses within one month.I know that this is probably they way it works and the poor assistants are not to blame for it. They are just doing their jobs and trying to meet the shop sale targets. I just really don't like to be taken for an idiot that will agree to anything because of confusion and nice sale assistats and the belief that they have at least a tiny bit of your interest in mind.They don't!Noone offered me eye drops which I actually need because they are a product not a service and margins are smaller on that. Probably no commission on them as well.My trial solution was out of date.None asked for my preferences or informed me about prices.I can get by without those last things but it all adds up and I am sorry to say that this is why SOME people buy the lenses online. NOT because they are cheaper. It is because in shops they are tricked into payments, lack information what they are buying and for how much and their trust in honest service is abused.

I called first sight opticians on 2/9 with some strange eye symptoms. I was triaged over the phone and had a call back within ten minutes to go in for tests. Pauline referred me to rah and I was in the next morning appointment resulting in laser treatment on a potential sight threatening condition. There are not enough words to describe the professionalism nor attention I got from Pauline and the staff in Johnstone then onward at rah . Absolute first class service and would highly recommend. Thank you all very much

Nice staff and my experience of my eyetest was very pleasant, more so than other opticians. However, the prices were shockingly quite high. My quote was much higher than anything I have paid before and I was using my own frames. I could not justify the prices, even if I could afford it. That's why it's three stars but as I say lovely staff and optician.

They have been wonderful with both myself and my daughter, but recently my dad had vision issues, they spoke with him over the phone, arranged a hospital appointment and he had minor eye surgery less than 24 hours later. Absolutely amazing service.
