Excellent establishment. The team here went out of their way to source some specialist ski goggles for me at short notice. Best outdoors shop around.

Okay experience at Tiso Edinburgh. I visited to try on some of their raincoats and was pleasantly surprised by their large selection. The staff were okay and helpful. I ended up purchasing a small piece of mountaineering equipment. Overall, it is okay but prices are on slightly higher side so if you want a really good deal you should try to buy online instead.

Great service today - squeezing me in for a last minute boot fitting. I think anywhere else would have said no, so kudos to them!

I would like to thank Euan for his help in stretching my ski boots. His knowledge and skill made such a difference to the comfort of my feet on holiday. He was great - both helpful and courteous. Many thanks.

My friend and I went to this shop to get a backpack this afternoon. Gavin, David, and another red-haired member of staff (sorry I didn't see the name) were extremely helpful and offered great tips in choosing bags and putting on them properly. Love their consideration in service.

I've used this shop since the early 70s, but I had a bad experience today. I recently bought a pair of sticks (with £600 of other goods). I had to take one back today (from Fife) because it was faulty. I had to spend a long time convincing two (oddly suspicious) members of staff that it was indeed faulty. I only received a replacement when I started to get angry. Even then, I was initially offered a cheaper, less functional alternative!I need to reconsider my loyalty.Original post: Long-standing shop for good outdoor equipment and advice.

Best advice on buying ski boots I've had for 30yrs when I was guided by an ex boot specialist to the Austrian ski team. Ewan was excellent.

I was only in Edinburgh for a day and wanted to get some new running shoes. I?d always had problems running due to never getting the right shoes that help actually support my foot. We went into several shops before this and they all said we had to book anything that would help analyse my foot to get the right shoe, without even bothering to check when their next slot was. Then we went to Tiso, as soon as we walked in we were greeted by Charlie who was very friendly straight off the bat. He measured my feet, and used some fancy technology to work out which shoes would be best. He then showed me shoes in a variety of price ranges telling me the advantages of all and allowed me to test different insoles to see which one felt best. He was so reassuring and him being a runner himself, was clearly trust worthy; an overall great help and great guy. Can?t recommend this shop enough, not just for running but for other outdoor activities as it seemed to have it all!
