Received a phone from this shops phone number from someone who sounded Indian/Bangladeshi claiming to be from O2 offering subscription rewards, after challenging this person and calling him out as a scammer he ended the call. I tried ringing the number back with no answer. After googling the number called it came back to this shop,I have contacted the shop via email to point out that either 1 of their employees is trying to scam people or someone has cloned their phone number, they have thus far not replied to my email and I have reported their number to Action Fraud.

Girl behind the counter has no manners and no customer based skills what so ever! Also the place could do with a good clean rather dirty!

I visited the shop yesterday evening around 6pm. Admittedly I was able to purchase the item I was looking for and the gentleman who served me was pleasant however, the shop is very untidy and it needs to be cleaned with hot water and soap! It's been a while since I've been in and I was shocked by the appearance of the shop as I entered - it was that obvious. The dirt I am referring to was not just from that day but was, in my opinion, OLD DIRT. Please clean up. I would certainly think twice before returning and I would only purchase items that are sealed and that I checked the 'sell by' date.

Was refused because I never had a face covering, I am exempt and even had my lanyard on! I find this shocking behaviour and the gentleman didn?t even offer just to go in and get my stuff! Never ever will I visit here again that is discrimination!

Staff un welcoming over patronising about selling alcohol to person of age from . Felt really unwelcome considering I was spending a good bit money to celebrate my parents 50 wedding anniversary. To be fair to say I was imbarrest I felt humiliated Is an understatement,. Needless to say will not be using your establishment again. Xl

Am astonishing array of high quality products. There are plenty of major cities, much less shops, that have a less good selection of whiskey. Really amazing. Also excellent milk, ice cream, and service! A brilliant place.

Great shop. The staff are lovely, the prices are very good and the shop has tonnes of little nooks and crannies to explore! Compared with the cooperative in Biggar which is filled with grumpy (and sometimes down-right angry) staff, Brownlies has smaller queues, often cheaper prices, and a great originality. I love Brownlies.

Getting to the shops can sometimes be a real pain in the proverbial in rural Scotland at times, which is probably why we still have so many of these great wee convenience stores that carry the full range of products that anybody running a household might be looking for rather than the ones you get in urban towns and cities which seem to just give over a third of their store to alcohol?! Alas, I digress, Browlie's is a store I never miss going into when I'm in Biggar after some messages and I'm pretty well convinced that if you can't find it in here then you probably don't need it. Like so many of the shops in Biggar and other ancient towns the shops can be a peculiar shape with wee nooks and crannies. For example, I thought it odd that they didn't have any milk and dairy products until I discovered a wee corridor-esk part of the shop where they had hidden the milk and also a cash machine strange but true. Great shop, decent service, slightly cramped, but has got what you need.
