We had a wonderful family celebration for my husband?s 40th in the Granite Balcony. All of the ladies in the events team were extremely helpful in the planning stage and always promptly replied to any questions I had. The Granite Balcony itself is a stunning room to hold any private celebration. There was plenty of space to move around the table and the decor is just lovely. Kyle, our main waiter for the night was excellent as was all of the team. Friendly, service with a smile and very attentive. The meal was faultless, all of our family have commented on how good the food was. We stayed the night in a comfortable, quiet room and rounded off our celebrations with a lovely breakfast. Thank you to everyone at The Chester Hotel for helping to make my husband?s 40th birthday so special.

Great stay at The Chester. Friendly staff, amazing rooms - clean and spacious. We had room 94 - club room. Dinner was amazing - order a steak. Breakfast also absolutely fantastic - chef did poached eggs for us rather than the scrambled eggs on the buffet. Will definitely be back.

Not value for money! We went for afternoon tea. The cakes were all very disappointing and the scones were very dry. Over priced for quantity and quality of food. We were £89 for 1 person afternoon tea and bottle of Prosecco!!!

While Aberdeen seemed light on great tourist activity and most eateries closed very early, this hotel was fantastic. The staff was very friendly, the room was wonderful, and the shower was awesome. Couldn't have asked for a better first night on a Scottish

We recently stayed at the Chester hotel beginning of August, and Emanuel on reception couldn't have been more helpful. He went over and above to make sure we had a great nights stay. Thank you again!

3rd stay in the last couple of years with the other two being really enjoyable but this time completely ruined by being allocated a room directly opposite the function room, resulting in zero sleep until after two in the morning when the music finally went off. Raised the issue with reception and got an apology for not being advised that there would be noise during our stay due to the function, not sure what would have been achieved by being made aware that your stay was going to be disrupted! Offer of a late checkout declined as of zero benefit. Couple of other niggles being fridge not working but no one would be available from maintenance until Monday after we had left, towel rail not working, didn?t bother to report. Bathroom shower leaked all over the floor after each shower and black silicone inside and outside shower most off putting. These are minor niggles and if the price tag for the stay reflected this then wouldn?t be so bad but the stay does carry a hefty price tag.

We loved staying here for four nights while visiting our daughter in Aberdeen. There is so much to like about this somewhat higgledy-piggledy hotel spread across several houses in an appealing Aberdeen neighbourhood. Plenty of carparking at the rear of the hotel, attractive decor, a large comfortable bed, well set up bathrooms with a good shower and quality toiletries. Nespresso coffee machine, a desk for working at and great breakfasts. As breakfast is very much my ?thing?, this is something I especially appreciated about the Chester. All the usuals - cooked items, granola, fruit, fish and cheese, pastries and bagels and toast. And I got to try butteries! The staff in the hotel are great; young ones and those with more experience all deliver a consistent experience, a tribute to the training and culture here. Anything we would change about this hotel? At times it was the very quietest of places, but there were times when the noise from other rooms was a problem. We must have had the same guests in the room above us all the time as their alarm woke us each morning just after 6am and then, for some reason, they walked around the room continuously (creak, creak) until 7.30am so there was no chance of us going back to sleep. Not much the hotel can do about this, and the noisy guests in the next room were only there one night, so it is just luck of the draw. There seem to be quite a few groups staying here to play golf and they are early risers. And on our final day there was no hot water (cold showers for us - brrrr) - apologetic staff but no offer of an acknowledgement of any form, which was a bit disappointing.

Lovely hotel with incredibly well versed and friendly staff. We stayed for my partners 30th birthday and the card from the hotel and the chocolates in the room was a really nice personal touch. Thank you all for the amazing service and looking after us for the 2 nights we stayed :)Rooms: We stayed in the club room, it was light, spacious, and had a gorgeous view over Aberdeen from the bed :)Food & drinks: Breakfast is plentiful, and very high quality. Items including smoked salmon, prosciutto, cheeses, cereals, brioche buns, fresh fruit, yogurts, rare breed sausages, smoked back bacon, scrambled eggs, black pudding, tattie scones, beans, juices, pastries, and a few other things I can't remember right now. Afternoon tea was really beautiful, and the service and friendly staff were always a delight to engage with.

Went there on Fathers Day for our Lunch, 6 adults & 1 baby We were seated upstairs from the reception/bar area, nice relaxing setting, babies highchair provided. The menu was not very extensive & some dishes that were on the menu, some of them were even not available. What dishes we did order were nice & tasty. The staff also were friendly & attentive. After paying and leaving a Tip for the staff, it weren't until later that we noticed a 12% Service Charge, which I personally think people should be made aware of, on further looking at the Bill, we were charged £4 per Gravy Boat for 2 extra portions of Gravy to go with our Roast Lunch, which I think is totally ridiculous. No surprise that the place was empty on a Fathers Day Lunchtime if this is how they operate We wont be returning back

Lovely venue. Totally overpriced food for what you get. super small portions. I had monkfish and it was the smallest portion I?ve ever seen - very unimpressive. Won?t be back as there is far better out there
