Yesterday I went into the post office 17 Castlegate. Last time I went the young lad was lovely and helpful. But this time the lady there was so rude to me I felt abused. I was polite as I could be anfter being spoken to rudely and she was foul, she shouted at ?shut your mouth? over and over again and hurry up. It was so bad I it made me feel unwell and my glands swelled and I felt ill. I have a condition where stress makes me ill. I came out after finally sorting out my posting things. I was shaking. I called my friend and burst into tears. I was so shocked and upset. I went to my hairdressers and he gave me a hug.That woman is an utter disgrace!She is a complete liability and I?m surprised she hasn?t caused further trouble. I?m thinking of taking this further.

Ive been here to post packages around 5 times now, Only once was the post Office counter at the back open, where i was given exceptional service.However every other time the lady attending the McColls counter is so rude, doesnt have basic manners or any form of customer service. One time i asked to post a letter and she refused simply because she couldnt be bothered, its clear to see she hates the post office side of her job.And today i went in and asked if i could post an item in which she responded that the printer was broken which was a blatant lie.Immense training and monitoring should be implemented to make sure the service is improved. How that women still has a job looking at other reviews i will never know.

The woman working there is so rude. According to the post office website the post office is open on Sundays, but the woman stated it wasn't she does not work for the post office and appears to work for rs McColl's. It seems to me that she just couldn't be bothered to do the post office side of it today

Make up the opening hours as they go along, no single listing is correct, it takes multiple visits to finally catch them open, do not rely on them to function competently as a post office.Update:Yesterday was told 9am-2:30, arrived at 9 to be told actually it was 9:30 to 2:30 today. Called after 9:30 to ensure these times were correct and have been told they've changed their minds and close at 2 today. Both staff spoken to very rude, they really just don't care. An embarrassment to the post office.

The rudest customer service. Appalling behavior towards customers.The blonde lady at the front desk is always moody and unhelpful. It's disgrace to keep shops operating in this attitude.I wonder if there is any management in place.It's better to walk in town and get served by nice people in Saint Nicola's post office.

Today was the first time i have visited this post office.The staff member was very rude and arrogant, but i can now see lots of other rewiews saying the same thing.Google says the post office open at 6.30, but not according to the staff.

Terrible experience trying to post something within the advertised postal service hours, with the shopkeeper berating me at length. Would sooner take a walk to another shop than risk a second encounter.

Would be helpful if Royal Mail would find the time to update their open hours. It appears from the website they dont even know the days that their own branches are open!

Incredible rude and abusive staff here.People with such appalling manners should not be in jobs where they have contact with customers.Their treatment of my father this morning has upset him greatly and he has vowed never to visit here again.There is a post office in the WH Smith in the St Nicholas centre nearby, I suggest everyone use there instead if they don't want their day ruined.

The rudest person I've ever encountered working in a "customer-facing" role. I note that lots of other people feel the same. I would suggest that this person finds another way to earn a living. Regardless, I'm going to make a formal complaint to Post Office Ltd. Appalling!

Efficient service and staff, the lady always has time to have a friendly chat. Yes it's a older shop and probably could do with a little updating but still provides an impeccable service. Reduced hours so I'd advise calling to make sure they are open
