Room and corridor stunk of weed complained to baldy head male receptionist who was obtuse and rude about it. Next morning the receptionist was much nicer and said she knew the rooms opposite were smoking weed and the manager would intervene when on site.

Staff were welcoming and friendly i cant fault them. Have stayed before and had no issues at all but this time our beds were all so uncomfortable we only got a couple hours sleep each night. We didn?t complain as i imagine all the beds are the same. We ended up leaving hours earlier than we planned as we were all suffering with bad backs and could not sleep any longer.Rooms: Awfully uncomfortable beds.

We normally use Premier Inn, but decided to give Travelodge at Seaton Burn a try. The Staff were very welcoming, offered to help with the bags to our room and provided advice on local places to eat etc. Unfortunately, Travelodge allow guests to smoke at the main entrance and not a designated area away from this area and bedroom windows. Stale and Fresh Cigarette smoke filled the Reception Area/Entrance, the Corridors/Stairs to Bedrooms and into the bedrooms from the same or via the bedroom windows. Running the gauntlet of smokers at the entrance is very off putting and does little to enhance your stay or professional view of the Travelodge. Disabled Parking Bays are in constant use by persons/guests not displaying disabled blue badges and over our 3 night stay we were never able to secure a designated bay. The signs, road markings and deep potholes need real attrention. Horizon Parking have excellent Disabled Parking Signs/Facilities at the Premier Inn/Beefeeter Restaurant, so why not at Travelodge. Premier Inn/Beefeeter less than 2 miles away have a clear bay markings/warning signs that non disabled badge holders will be fined £100 for unauthorised use. That Said, the room, toilet and bedding was clean and apart from the road noise due to it being in between 3 major roads and right next to the petrol station we had a reasonable stay. We would like to see this Travelodge improve as the staff deserv e more Senior Management Support

My husband and I stayed at Seaton Burn Travelodge from 21st to 23rd September 2023. We were warmly greeted on arrival and given our keys. When we entered room 4 we found that the main light was not working and my husband approached reception and mentioned the fact. We were understanding that maintenance would not be available at that time on a Thursday evening. The receptionist (we later found out to be the manager Joanne) came along to the room and checked the lighting and immediately offered to try and get us another accessible room, which she did (room 1). Later in the evening (it was half-time during the France game of the rugby world cup) I went outside to have a cigarette. Before I even opened the door to reception, I heard an extremely loud voice coming from reception. On entering reception, a Scottish woman was bawling and shouting at Joanne about her bed not being changed every day of her stay and her bathroom not being thoroughly and fully cleaned on a daily basis. Johanne in a calm and controlled voice was trying to explain the policy of Travelodge but the woman was not willing to even listen to the explanation and continued to shout at Joanne. I went outside and had my cigarette and came back in and asked Joanne if she was ok after the amount of verbally abusive behaviour she had just been exposed to. No-one needs to be subjected to that type of behaviour let alone accept it. Joanne had held herself in an exemplary manner throughout and should be commended for her composure. This Travelodge was immaculately clean both inside and out. The housekeeping staff also deserve to be appreciated for the levels of cleanliness and hygiene. We both found that all the staff from housekeeping to management were friendly, courteous, and approachable. A team of employees to be proud of. We both feel ashamed to be Scots following this woman?s outburst and attitude and if this had happened in a Retail business in Scotland she would have been reported to the Police for prosecution and barred from the premises.

Steve at Seaton burn travel lodge is an absolute credit to the travel lodge company, a friendly, chatty person makes a massive difference, was nice to come across some one professional on the night shift, sat at his post ready to greet customers, a man who takes his job seriously is something that is sadly becoming rare in Britain, well done Steve, a pleasure to meet you ?

My daughters and I stayed at the Seaton Burn Travelodge when we came up Newcastle to take part in The Great North Run. The welcome was warm and friendly and the room clean and tidy. All of these are things I would naturally expect from a hotel. What set them apart was the way they handle my lost wallet. For which I'd like to formally thank Karen and her team. I was standing with 60, 000 other runners waiting to start The Great North Run when I received a call from a landline number I didn't recognise. So I ignored it. 2 minutes later I received a call from a mobile number. I chose to answer that thinking it might have been a friend coming to watch us run. It turned out to be Karen telling me they had found my wallet in the bedroom. Knowing it would be impossible for me to get back to the hotel caused panic and concern to race through my body. But calmly and reassuringly Karen told me not to worry and that she would arrange to send my wallet back to me by recorded delivery the next day. She told me she had my back and to relax and just enjoy taking part in the race. Today, as promised, my wallet arrived by recorded delivery. All of my cards and cash were safely in place. If you're looking stay in a hotel were the staff are full of integrity, care about making their customer's stay relaxing then I would unreservedly recommend the Seaton Burn Travelodge. I know I'll be back...but next time I'll be a little more careful with my wallet :) I'd also like to thank them for the sweets, water and bananas they provided to all of the Great North Run runners staying with them. A lovely touch!

handy site , clean , next to burger king and alnight garage shop for sourcing nibbles . If road noise bothers you then ask for a room on the side away from the road . Easy transport links by car to everywhere . Handy for the city and Northumberland beaches in equal measure .
