Mostly very helpful staff, except refusing to open med bottles with v. tight lid.

I was in the shop on Saturday 11th November and was refused a perfectly legal 5 day emergency supply of a prescription medication, which had been ordered a week previously, but hadn't arrived with the rest of the presciption. The pharmacist on duty stated that it was company policy not to give emergency supplies of any medication which are to be taken when required. My wife had to go without her painkillers, because of this ridiculous policy. I wonder if it was an inhaler I had requested, would I have been denied as this is also a medicine to be used when required. My wife has been receiving the requested medicine every month for a year now. We will be switching to a different pharmacy, because of this incredibly poor customer service.

Best chemist in Holywood, very helpful staff.

The main chemist in Holywood, friendly knowledgeable staff, with close ties to local GPs. There are certain items, e.g. controlled drugs that, I understand, are only available from this local pharmacy.

always very pleasant and helpful staff

The staff tend to go above and beyond to accommodate patients. They have a robot in-store working behind the scenes filling prescriptions and creating patient's weekly medi-packs that are more secure and easier to use. The new facelift offers a modern decor without losing its identity as Holywood's oldest pharmacy.

Chemist with other products for sale

This is a well known, well established and customer orientated pharmacy that has been here for a long, long time. This place seems to have the customer at the heart of their service and this makes all the difference, especially when you are getting health and medical products. Anytime I have had to go in here I have enjoyed the overall vibe of the place, it is a nice bright and airy shop that is a nice place to call into. This is even on top of the excellent customer service. This place offers the usual stuff that most pharmacys do, namely make up, perfume, toiletries and medicines all at a pretty reasonable, standard price. Nothing really the matter with this place, a good local business.

Having just paid a visit to another (unnamed) pharmacy, who had the most unhelpful staff I have ever encountered (when I asked whether or not I could take antihistamines and anti-inflammatories together, the lady serving looked at me as though I had horns growing out of my head...), I was much relieved to have a far nicer experience in Sweeney's. The sales lady was more than helpful when aiding me in my choosing of arch supports, and was exceedingly well-informed, having undergone a similar experience herself. When they didn't have exactly what I was after, she was more than happy to order it for me. Bonus points for super support and assistance, which was well needed, let me tell you. The pharmacy itself is a Holywood institution and is very much a customer-orientated chemists (as I learned). Sweeney's is one of the bigger independent pharmacies, offering a great range of perfume, makeup, toiletries and pharmaceutical stock at very affordable prices. My sister managed to find pressed powder for £2.99 (those bright yellow labels are incredibly alluring), and decided to purchase that. All in all, a very good experience was had at Sweeney's. If I need any kind of advice on medicines and the like (oh please no), I *will* be back.
