We had traveled a long way and pulled off the motorway to have some food. When we asked if they were still serving, we were abruptly told yes but be quick as we stop taking orders in 10min.Having menus passed to us she then went on to say oh and if you order it?s going to be a long wait !!We felt that they just didn?t want our order, so just had a quick drink and left . Another couple came in a few minutes after us and were given the same welcome and response, again they felt awkward and just ordered a drink and packet of crisps !!!They are losing good business by treating travellers this way. We will not go back

Just had Sunday lunch with the family at The Stag and enjoyed it so much i felt that they deserved a mention on here. The staff were really friendly and accomodating, the atmosphere was warm, comfortable and welcoming, and the food was great too.We had a lovely Sunday roast, well cooked and great portions, with really indulgent desserts and all reasonably priced.Would highly recommend a trip here for a relaxed Sunday afternoon!

Attractive old country inn but well appointed considering narrow steps to restaurant. Large carpark at side as well as some spaces in front of inn Initial reception a little offhand and offered drinks before being told where our table was - not shown to table Waitress friendly and helpful. Food tasty and well presented - varied menu choice available. Very reasonably priced

Upon entering the pub, one can't help but appreciate the decoration that surrounds the space. The staff have a warm and welcoming demeanor, contributing positively to the overall experience. Our visit was timed for an early lunch, coinciding with the lighting of the fireplace. As a result, the initial ambiance was somewhat cooler than expected, likely due to the timing of our arrival in relation to the fire being kindled. This minor aspect, however, does not significantly detract from the charming and inviting atmosphere of the pub.Food & drinks: Very good ?home cooked? pub food.

great little pub in this gem of a village.sadly the young female bar tender has an attitude problem and the visit was not pleasant. not welcoming and everything seemed to be too much trouble. being a hostess i'm guessing wasn't the first choice since leaving school.one place to avoid

Past many times and always appears busy - a good sign. Booked a 12:45 slot for lunch. restaurant & bar not too busy. Good selection of beers and soft drinks on offer. A bit of a wait after ordering but well worth it. Very good portions and top quality Fish & Chips and vegetarian roast. Looks to be popular with the local farming community as the car park full of Range Rovers. Will visit again.

This is possibly the worst pub I have had the misfortune in entering. Rude, unwelcoming staff, unpleasant experience. Would have complained in person but we were pretty much ushered out as the pub quiz was a 'sold out event'. Surprising really, given the quality of service, that anything in this place could be sold out? People skills maybe need to be encouraged.

Situated just by the side of the A508 approx 15mins from Northampton is the Stag. Booked a table for 4 on a Thursday lunch and it was surprisingly busy, a good signHad a pint of Southwold whilst waiting for my meal. Opted for the Wagu burger and pulled pork, I thought delicious, the others in the party had fish and chips, chilli and gammon. All of us had a good meal. For afters I had a caramel type pud which was lovely. The one thing about this pub is prices are very sensible.

Excellent little pit-stop just off the A14. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay, but it was a pretty place with pleasant surroundings and a lovely cosy pub with friendly staff. Recommend.Food & drinks: I was very impressed with the amount of choice for vegetarians and vegans, especially for a country pub. Food came out fairly promptly and was of a high standard.

When it is a miserable wet night and you don?t want to cook or shop after work The Stag produced a warming meal of Steak and Ale Pie and Fish Pie.So reasonably priced, promptly delivered in a nice warm and cosy environment and lovely lady at the bar - M - you know who I mean.Thank you .
