Can not say is the best sushi i ever had but it was fresh and had a pretty good taste. Friendly servers and a chill place.

Everything was good. The waiter was friendly, but there was a long wait for the food ordered on the app to arrive at our table. The food itself was delicious, albeit relatively pricey. All in all, we were glad to have dined there.

Massively understaffed, the girl serving us was on her own, rushed off her feet, covering at least 30 customers, she was lovely and friendly but come on Yo!! You need more

SO VERY COLD We asked to move table after we ordered and was told the temperature isn't any better anywhere else.We would of cancelled the order but we were starving and needed to eat. The hot food was probably hot when made but was freezing cold within a short time of getting it.We were upset about the whole experience, we told our server but she did nothing to help apart from apologise.Would like to of spoken with the manager but they were nowhere to be seen.In future if your heating is broken you should be telling people straight away at the door.This was our first stop after travelling a while to get to York, it was a very bad start to our day.

Service was incredibly slow, the staff walked around like they had no clue how to waiter a restaurant. Had to ask 3 times to get the drinks we ordered/miso, and waited about 25 minutes before we were even given our drinks, or told that the one I ordered was not available. We booked a table and it took them 10 minutes to even clear one that was available. When we left 1 hour 20 minutes later all of the other people in the restaurant were gone, and not a single table had been cleared or cleaned up (approx 20 tables) even though people had left over 45 minutes prior. At one point a waiter was aimlessly walking about the kitchen, with no hair net or PPE on, and kept disappearing every ten minutes. When we told them that service was incredibly slow they said that they were very busy - they were not - and the restaurant was only half full during the time we were there. The people who sat behind us left because service was so slow that they had not received anything - not even their drinks within 30 minutes of being seated. Food was ok but the head chef should not be telling the wait staff what to do every ten minutes. Restaurant was dirty and tables were sticky.

Seats were dirty when we were brought to our table. Only one member of staff present for some reason but it was almost empty so there?s no excuse really.Ordered tap water and it arrived in a murky plastic container with two scratched up dirty plastic cups, the water was warm so we didn?t drink it.Despite being almost empty, it still took 20-30 minutes for some sashimi starter to arrive.Ordered the spicy seafood ramen and it arrived late with half the ingredients missing? It looked nothing like the picture on the menu. The broth was a different colour, too much broth like a giant bowl of soup with nothing inside it, 2 prawns were chopped up and thrown in and sunk to the bottom to look like there?s more. They ran out of eggs so no boiled egg on top (my favourite part) no bokchoy, no seaweed. Barely any noodles either. It was extremely disappointing and if they didn?t have the ingredients or time to make it properly and not randomly improvise then they should have came up and told us or offered a discount? They still had all the intention of charging us full price for that disaster. I shouldn?t have to ask why my ramen is missing all its ingredients it?s highly embarrassing!The soy sauce pot was black stained and dirty, if this was washed regular it wouldn?t be stained that much, I had to pre clean it with a tissue in my bag.The prawn crackers we ordered came on the tiniest plate I?ve ever seen, there were around 4-5 crackers on this plate? Why so little? And the pot of sweet chilli sauce it arrived in was not like the image either, it arrived in a tiny plastic shot glass, too small to actually dip the cracker in. Between me and my partner we had two small crackers each! Waste of money.Toilet seat was broken and hanging off its hinges, toilet dirty.Untrained staff dealt with the situation badly and had the nerve to appear angry and stressed when I said no to the tipping request whilst I was paying?Very upset with this restaurant and I will not be returning again. I advise you to go somewhere more professional if you want good food with your partner for the evening, I recommend Ipfu sushi in York, always a nice experience there :)

I recently visited YO! Sushi and overall had a positive experience. The staff played a significant role in setting the tone for our visit, and I must say, they were all remarkably friendly. The gentleman who seated us and engaged in conversation at the outset created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, kicking off our dining experience on a positive note.The culinary aspect, a crucial factor in any restaurant, did not disappoint. The food, as always, was delightful. Although we had to order all our plates instead of relying on the conveyor belt, it proved to be a minor adjustment and didn't hinder our enjoyment of the meal.However, a recurring issue surfaced with our drink orders. For both of them, our drinks failed to arrive, and by the time we had finished our meal, we were still without them. Fortunately, the staff demonstrated commendable customer service when we brought it to their attention. We opted to have the drinks removed from the bill, a request they accommodated without hesitation. It's worth noting that this wasn't an isolated incident for me; the same hiccup occurred during my previous visit, indicating a consistent problem in their beverage service.Despite this hiccup, I would still classify this YO! Sushi as a decent establishment. The friendly and accommodating staff, coupled with the consistently tasty food, outweigh the issue with drink service. The fact that the staff handled the situation gracefully by promptly removing the charges from our bill reflects positively on the overall customer experience. Despite the occasional glitch in the beverage department, I am inclined to return, confident that the positives of the dining experience will once again outweigh the minor inconveniences.Vegetarian options: Plenty of both Vegetarian and Vegan options on the menu, including "Pr*wn Crackers" and Avocado Rolls.Dietary restrictions: Asked upon entry about any allergies. We have none, but they would advise if you do.Kid-friendliness: Kids are allowed to eat in here. There are chairs for babies to eat at.

For £10 for a sushi box I?d rather go to Ippuku Tea House where it?s made with craft by an independent placeOnce it was maybe a good option on the go but the quality has gone downhill at all branches many years ago. It?s passable - jut not worth the money when the options are so much better elsewhere in York

Food tasted bland but fine, service was slow but fine and it wasn't too noisy nor nice. The price however was abysmal. £30 worth of food and I still went to McDonald's afterwards because I didn't feel full in the least.

Disappointing experience. Only a single bowl of very old edamame traveling around the conveyor belt which was the first disappointment having waited 10 mins for someone to simply clean a table for us to sit. Very expensive and rather underwhelming, the yakitori was actually black. Toilets were also black and in dire need of bleach. Felt unloved, a bit shabby and very overpriced. My 8 year old even admitted we should have gone to wagamamas!

We?re visiting from Canada and i was shocked at the price we paid for our meal. We got one small bowl of katsu chicken curry, one small bowl of fire cracker rice, a small bowl of ramen and perhaps 4 plates of sushi, 1 pancake, 2 plates of prawn crackers (the ones you get free at the Chinese takeaway), 1 coke and 3 tap waters. And the food took ages (about 10 minutes for my katsu curry add maybe 20 for the ramen & rice) to reach us and it wasn?t even that busy. The total came to £65!!! (About $110 Canadian). Last week we ate out at a really nice restaurant, for 3 adults, 1 could for £10 more!! I was still hungry when i left. I don?t think I?ll ever eat at Yo sushi again. Definitely not worth it.

I usually don?t bother to leave reviews but this time I wanted to take the time to do it. I stopped over for a quick meal. As I was on my own I wanted a quick service and decent food. This is why I stopped at Yo! . The place was nearly empty with only a couple of customers. I ordered a rice beer and could see that the glass was dirty, also lots of small flies flying around. The waiter, although nice was wearing a dirty teeshirt and trousers. I could also see in the open kitchen that the cutting boards were not that clean with residues of shushi around. ordered a large salmon yakisoba (strangely billed as chicken yakisoba). I could see it was prepared with precooked noodles just reheated in a pan. Good portion size but salmon rubbery, as completely over cooked and extremely salty. Left a very bad aftertaste and I really struggled to finish my plate. Not a good experience at all and will definitely not return.

My mum and I planned to visit this restaurant during our day trip to York as I enjoy going to the one in our town. However, we were quite disappointed. Our food arrived before drinks, however there was quite a wait for both. The food was nice, but not anything special. The staff were pleasant. We decided we would not visit again.
