Central York. An interesting lunch menu of hot dishes, open sandwiches or paninis with various toppings / fillings. Each has side salad and then a choice of three from six interesting other salads. Middle Eastern or North African flavours. The cafe is looking rather tired but the staff are lovely and we really enjoyed our lunch.

Came for coffee and a cake I had a gluten free chocolate cake which was lovely My partner ordered a scone with cream - the scone was tiny and the cream had already been portioned out which was a small amount. It looked like it had been stored in the fridge as the cream was rock hard. I had a vanilla late but it was just a very very milky flat white coffee and I didn't enjoy it Was okay but wouldn't rave about it

Fancied a nice cooked breakfast walked in and was greeted by a lovely blonde lady, ordered a full English a pot of tea and coffee which came very quickly. The breakfast was nice but barely warm. We sat at the table on ground floor near the window from our seats u could see dirt under the sofa?s, cobwebs in windows near food, tea cups stained. Dirt visible under coffee machine. The toilet is on the top floor which isn?t a problem till u enter and it was awful, dirty, wooden toilet seat, window open so the street can see u sitting on the toilet. When going back down stairs the blinds on the windows thick with dust and cobwebs. Two dark haired girls who worked there very miserable couldn?t smile but the blonde lady was lovely and smiley.

Had a light breakfast here. Croissant and scone. Despite croissant saying served with jam or marmalade none came. Also asked for glass of water, had to request it again. The cup was dirty and had to ask for a clean one. Boxes and crates were stacked in the seating area and provisions on the stairs whilst accessing the toilet. Place is shabby and not clean. Won't be revisiting any time soon!

Waited about 25 minutes until order taken. Order was coffees and American pancakes. Told no crème fraiche for pancakes, so asked for ice-cream. Front door continually left open (November) and very cold. Food came after 40 minutes since entry. No maple syrup. Told ran out. No cutlery. By time knife and fork arrived ice cream had melted. Half way through food when coffees arrived. Cold! Had been stood on counter. No spoons! Staff seemed young and inexperienced. Very disorganized. A lot of running around, but not getting anywhere. Apparently, they are looking to expand. Don't bother. Try and get one shop right first. Will never go there again. Keep walking!

We had a meat soup (green Thai chicken), vegan soup (Moroccan veg) both with salad and veg, a warm milk and a cappuccino. Staff were friendly, although seemed slightly chaotic in there. Atmosphere was cosy. Came to about £25 Tasted healthy - would go again

So disappointing and overly priced. Chicken soup - two shredded bits of chicken in the bowl and sad chunk of bread on the side. They said to ask for as much bread as you want, but gave me less than half a bowl of soup to eat with it ? £5.50 for a sharing dish of roast sweet potato wedges- essentially less than one small sweet potato cut into pieces! The food was bland and barely warm. It has such potential but sadly lacks in delivery.

Had breakfast here, supposedly a large breakfast, menu stated plum tomatoes but had a regular grilled tomato, beans where cheap tasting. Only one slice of toast, one sausage, no hash brown! No fried egg option, despite others asking for it. Poached egg was watery. All in all, I was left feeling hungry for the rest of the breakfast! I wouldn?t visit again.

Excellent gluten-free cakes. We loved our visit to this lovely cafe. A very extensive menu that caters very well for gluten-free customers. Although it was lunchtime, there was no restriction on what we had. We both had a gluten-free cake, and they were both excellent. The staff were very attentive, and the service was brilliant. Highly recommended.

Table for 4, we ordered 3 paninis with a choice of 3 salads and 1 soup with choice of 3 salads. We certainly had enough on our plates - very tasty. Ordered hot drinks too, which were served extra hot as requested. Great service and friendly welcoming staff. Will come again

Arrive at 12.20, ordered tea and panini, drank tea and still didn?t have panini/sandwiches by 12.50. Raised this with the waitress, and she said she would check, ?but we do have 3 floors!? Totally irrelevant, I don?t order a roast dinner I ordered a panini! Another waiter insisted we hadn?t been waiting over 30mins, their attitude absolutely stank! Customer service was none existent and downright rude, would definitely not recommend

Healthy interesting food served by lovely staff. Was very busy, but staff had time to explain the menu. Good veggie and gluten free options. Great choice.

A bit pricey for what you get. The ground floor is very crowded with not enough space for staff to pass by to get upstairs. Vegetarian breakfast included frittata which sounded nice but the slice was very small.

Worst panini ever, hardly any filling and when pointed out to staff was told yeah that?s how it is. For £13.95, it?s a rip off
