Great local gym and really friendly staff

Despite the equipment being a little dated, it is all fully functional and enables a great workout range.Aircon has recently been installed in the cardio area which remedies the only issue I used to have.Staff are great (especially Richard) and so is the music. They even skip Sophie Ellis Bextor if she invades the playlist. What more could you ask?

Pros:Great class and PT instructors - Deena, Tori, Hannah that I?ve tried.Classes are plentiful, quality and in a spacious studioBathroom is pretty good (looks only a couple of years old) with hairdryers, ample lockers and toiletsWide range of gym equipmentNegatives:2 of the showers don?t workNo hooks in showers or on doorsNo shampoo in showersGym area with cardio equipment is boilingGeneral aesthetics are very late 90s early noughties but not in a good wayGym equipment is rusty and dated. It?s very old and seriously needs replacing. It looks dirty as it?s gone past surface cleaning.The whole place needs replastering, air conditioning, painting, new windows / roofDrinks for sale are processed energy drinks / pre packaged cappucinos

Probably the most possibly inefficiently ran business in the world. First was incorrectly charged 150 pound by the gym and then went in to sort it out. The guy said I'd get a call, I answered the call explained and then said they would give my money back. It's been back and forth for more than 3 months. DO NOT TRUST THIS GYM WITH YOUR BANK DETAILS.

Shocking customer service, overcharged by 150 pound, admitted to it and still haven't given it after 3 months. DO NOT GIVE THIS GYM YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS. Do not risk it, Ebor fitness is a far better gym and half the price anyway

Recently joined and is a great gym with enough facilities for the majority of exercises.Good vibe of people just cracking on, quite quiet during the morning (6:00-8), same with lunch (13:00-14) same with evenings (17:00-18)Resistance training including machines for back, chest, biceps, legs, Smith machine, benches, barbells + more.Cardio including spin bikes, treadmills, rowing machine, stepper, cross trainer again to name a few.Similar prices to other gyms with multi options and classes are included in membership e.g HIIT sesh in the morning

Brilliant gym with a friendly welcoming vibe, the negative reviews on here are from previous management and staff who have mostly left. Sean is the new manager and he's made the gym a great place to workout, with a full timetable of varied classes run by experienced teachers. The members are very friendly and staff are always on hand to help.

A disappointing gym overall. Location is the only thing that kept me going for as long as I did. Small gym, with limited equipment (3 pec decs is just overkill and could do with another squat rack), members are unfriendly and that also goes for staff. Special mention to the tattooed and bearded member of staff, who is honestly one of the rudest individuals I've ever come across, especially in a customer facing role, where it was too much effort for talk to a paying customer needing a locker key, whilst he was finishing off a text message. £37 a month for a gym where you are having to wait for machines or change your work out depending on how busy it is. There are other gyms within the York centre, who are cheaper and have better facilities. I've now left, choose to drive to another gym that adds on 30 mins on my journey, where I can finally enjoy going to the gym.
