We needed a venue for a family afternoon buffet and the Red Lion provided us with great food and drinks. Fantastic little pub. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Will go back to try their Sunday lunch. Thanks to Ian and the team.

Great beer and choice - Clearly well looked after as the draught is rich and smooth whilst larger chilled and lively. Speckled Hen is a favourite but Coors Light very clean and pure tasting.Slightly squeaky bar stools but nothing a quick service won't solve. Not had any food but fish Friday always smells amazing and looks good size portion too.Update: no speckled hen any more, sadly, but Rev James stands proud, Coors is still very much worth the purchase and a great draught beer. No more squeaky stools, some lovely upgrades and great atmosphere.

Fantastic! Reasonable prices, a great place! Landlady is lovely, I left my debit card (inadvertently) down the back of the seat when visiting. Landlady was so kind and went above and beyond to get it back to me! Thank you. xx

Good beer and good food, If anything it's gotten even better over the years. Prices are the best in the village like for like and friendly within. Pay a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Good service, friendly staff. Veggie option limited to two choices. I went with the pasta which was very average and arrived lukewarm but was soon heated up with an apology. Other members of the party had fish and chips, which they enjoyed and one had pie which was nice but the veg was cold until smothered in gravy. Nice evening but wouldn't hurry back as a veggie.

Went in for a pint with my baby in a pushchaur and dog on a lead. Dog was only allowed on the wooden floor, which only left two tables. One was a normal height table and one was a tall stool type table. I asked where I could sit with the baby (she needed feeding). They bar lady said the tall table as the lower table was reserved (it was 1500 and i was the only person in the pub). I said it wasn't really very convenient, but went over to have a look. Got to the table and the baby started crying so I just grabbed a stool and sat between the two tables in some ridiculous effort to show I wasn't ignoring them, but that I could sit at the higher one. As a song ended and it went quiet the delightful landlady said "I'd have told him to f4ck off, baby or not". When I asked her to repeat what she said she scuttled off and left the other rude barmaid to answer me. Her response, when I asked if she told all of her customers was "that wasn't me. But we do if they have repeatedly done something we have told them not to do". Strange hospitality. Think these two would be better running a 19th century workhouse. They certainly have the lack of compassion required. Other than that the pub is tired and dead. Been once before and I was the only customer, but thought I had the best shot of a stop-off with the dog here today. Regret my decision. I left after two sips of beer and will not return. I expect an aggressive response to this review, rather than the apology they should offer, even though every word in it is true. Thanks for a horrible experience.

It's a great little pub this. Lynsey and family have done well to build it up over the years to a friendly local without airs and graces. It is unspoilt and offers consistently good food and live music. It's a credit to the grass roots of the owner.
