Good selection of books, however it is crowded due to a lot of tables and piles of books/jigsaws/games on the floor

Quite a small store compared to other cities like Manchester and Leeds. Other stores have a better choice. Especially of figures and manga.

With a fantastic collection of books and an inviting coffee area, Waterstones is one of the most welcoming and interesting shops in Liverpool One. Add to that, knowledgeable and friendly staff and you have the perfect shopping environment.

It was so busy , couldn't really tell who worked there or who didn't. Would have loved to have sat with a coffee but no spare tables. Did struggle to find a book. The layout was a bit confusing, but I will visit again

What a disappointing experience. I ordered coffee and took it back as it wasn?t what I ordered. Dark haired woman in ponytail, barista?, poured half away and topped up the coffee with milk. All the froth was down and around the outside of the cup and handle as she made a right mess and that was handed back to me. I was about to take a photo of it when back at our table but a man.manager? came and gave me a card for a free drink. He had seen what went on.We decided not to stay for lunch.

Books are the best weapons in the world. The store is a fantastic arsenal. Arm yourself. It's a mausoleum of pulped trees which are printed with myriad fantastical, amazing stories and facts. It's neat. It's clean. It's accessible. It's Waterstones.Admittedly, the LGBT section is token. As is the horror. That's a niggle. But you can buy pretty much any book there, or at least order it if they don't have it.

Really love this book shop. It isn't particularly accessible, what I mean is they keep putting book displays in the way of the walkway but if you ask someone they will usually get them out of the way for you. I really wish shop layout people had to navigate their own work in a wheelchair, scooter or even with a large buggy, to see just how difficult it can be to get around sometimes. There is a lift and a cafe also an accessible toilet as well as other bathrooms and baby change upstairs. The staff I have dealt with have been friendly and helpful. I love the selection of books and graphic novels and comics they have. I only knocked off a ? for the access issue. Fix that and you can have all five!

If there's an argument about whether physically going to a Shop is better than just going on-line, then Waterstones has something to say.I went in after being given a list off my Wife and came out with stuff for me.Hey, can I give you a tip?I went in there and was utterly lost amongst the 100s of 1000s of books in there. Here's what you do.Get your phone out.Go to the website, find the book you're interested in and go to the checkout.Put the shop you're in, and it'll tell you what section that book is in and how many are left. Then you physically go to that section and remember it's alphabetical with the Authors name. Before I realised this I was looking in the wrong place and giving up because there's the chance it's just not there. The second reason why physically being in the store is better. The Staff. This was a rainy mid week day and the place was busy with avid readers. The Staff who helped me were going above and beyond what I thought they needed to do.Great store.Extremely well looked after. The Coffee shop is a great idea. You could lose a whole day in there easily.Well done. This is a great Shop.

This review is for 'Waterstones cafe,' Liverpool & the bookstore also. Sadly after an incident on Saturday in their cafe, which I brought to the attention of The Cafe Manager & Deputy Store Manager. I am not happy in the least. Waterstones cafe gets 'extremely, ridicously busy' and especially at this time of the year! Sadly when you que up at the counter to buy your drinks & food then you don't have any guarantee that you will be able to obtain a seat to be able to sit down & enjoy your drink or eat your food. The staff are 'NOT' pro-active about moving 'students' whom buy one can of bererage or a cup of tea or coffee and sit on a table with their heads in their tablets/laptops, while the que snakes around the cafe to the bookstore! It is grossly not a 'correct' policy, even if that person has finished their beverage and has had ample time to chill then if the cafe is so 'heaving' to a ridiculous capacity these 'table-blockers' should be moved-on. This cafe's policy is, 'If they have brought a drink they can stay as long as they like! Despite the' glaring' fact there is an extremely long que, and these customers require somewhere to sit to eat & drink!! But can't due to students & other 'inconsiderate' people who think the cafe is an extension of a 'public library.' We are regulars, (but that is beside the point). We have witnessed people having to share a table with stranger's, families & friends having to push 'small' tables together in order to accommodate themselves! Then when you purchase food & drink 'Where do you sit?'. No tables! As inconsiderate people with laptops & tabs sit their while everyone has to walk around looking for somewhere to sit!! The staff are not-pro-active in moving these 'table blockers' & when it falls to my husband to request one of these 'tablet-table blockers' politely then they go and complain!! We the customer should not be doing this!! It is up to the staff to either, stop serving until tables are available or move those that sit there for hours on end doing their Uni work!! Simple. We are upset, the situation we found ourselves in was not of our making but the 'Cafe staff' for not managing the table situation effectively, thus leaving myself & my husband open to abuse and upset!! We're not paid to do this! You people are!! Totally unacceptable! They care more about profits than customers... Take the money, but where do we sit?!?! And your staff WON'T MOVE PEOPLE!!! My opinion. Avoid, go to another local establishment where it is properly managed and you are not left open to abuse from other customers! I'm fuming, not happy at all. Adendum had a book on order for a month.... Where is it, looks like Amazon for me. Waterstones, 'oversubscribed, overcrowded, poorly managed.' I can do better standing on my head, whilst spinning plates!!! Customer service & value... '0' PS:- My husband is 75 & myself 60 respectively, we should not be doing the job of your 'paid staff.'

Very helpful staff. Was in there Saturday afternoon and spent ages trying to find a book I wanted. Woman at counter was very helpful and friendly and looked it up and found my Gabor Mate book!
