My friend & I came for coffee this morning. We were welcomed by a young man and shown to a table and he said "Someone will be along to take your order." After waiting for a considerable time a waitress passed our table and I said "Excuse me could we place our order?"She gave no response and walked off and waited by the pass. Another waitress joined her and they stood there chatting. The second waitress eventually picked up a tablet and looked at us and walked to the bar. Having had no service, or coffee, we left to get better service elsewhere.

A real ?destination? property. We enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch in the newly opened barn. Great shopping here as well. Highly recommended.

Very disappointing food. Beef sandwich was inedible as the beef was so tough I could not cut it or bite through it. When I looked inside the sandwich I noticed a large piece of undercooked fat which made me feel unwell. The egg sandwich was a doorstop and the bread was dry and should not have been served. The egg was really coarsley chopped and bland. No finesse whatsoever. Scone was dry and tasteless. You pay dearly to eat bad food in a nice setting.

We visited today - a busy, grey, Mothering Sunday - for a quick journey break. The house promises to be a great visit on one of our next passes - today all we had was a quick but delicious tea, coffee and cake, a speedy look around the shops and a trip to the (spotless) loo.The thing that impressed more than anything was the staff - every single member of staff seemed to answer everything with a positive smile - of course you can pop in here for a coffee, of course you can bring your dog - of course I can box that for you, and let me check that I?ve taken the price off - in this surly, stressed world it was a real joy.Of course we will be returning - and of course I will be recommending a visit to Doddington Hall to all my friends. Thank you !

Really enjoyable evening - fine dining using a lot of produce from the estate & garden. A very well set up restaurant and keen staff.A few issues with the drinks order and paired wines, but I am sure these are just teething problems.

I cannot rate this place highly enough. After drawing attention to myself in a particularly spectacular choking fit in the restaurant...the staff couldn't have been more attentive. A screen was placed around my table and the people were so kind and caring. I wish to say a huge thank you to those involved and must add.the food wasn't the problem...moreso my Parkinson's disease affecting my swallowing. I need to also add that the food is indeed first class.

The new restaurant there is lovely , the maitre de ? Is brilliant but they have to stop cooking everything in garlic, some people like me must be garlic intolerant,

Met up with a friend for brunch on this grey grisly January day. We left feeling much better for the fabulous scrambled eggs & smoked salmon on sourdough toast & lovely coffee. A nice amble outside, too early in the year for the Hall & Gardens, that?s for another day. We explored the farm wagons, the food shop and fancy goods , somehow we managed to while away 3 hours?.. just like that ?
