Shared afternoon tea with friends, the room was warm and cosy nice mix of sandwiches and cakes lovely tea, no rush or pressure very comfortable.

Worst Rooms, very old chill rooms, too cold inside, heater does not work, worst bed, bedsheets are too short, duvet size is too small to cover, nobody in reception and need to wait.. Not clean toilets, no ventilation fan in the toilet, no lock.. Overall very bad..Rooms: Worst rooms, very cold, full of mould, not neat

We booked for the first time, for Sunday lunch. My husband, me and a friend. The receptionist / waitress was very sweet and friendly but was struggling with the computer so had to read out the menu to us initially. My friend had soup, my husband the chicken pate and I had wild mushrooms on brioche with a poached egg. All OK apart from an overdone egg. For mains my husband had roast beef and apart from the meat being ?a bit over? and his mash being a bit watery he enjoyed it. I had Sea Bass with crushed potatoes, which wasn?t very vibrant, there was no proper sauce so it was rather dry and not hot enough. There was an issue with my friend?s meal so she wasn?t charged for her starter or main. I?d describe the food as average and some of the elements seemed as though they?d been reheated. None of us fancied Desserts. We were the only diners during our meal so it was very quiet in the ?tired? but grand dining room. Overall rather a lacklustre experience and I don?t think we?ll be eating there again

Donington Manor Hotel is lovely and very old fashioned which maybe why they didn't respond to my email. I hadn't received confirmation about our booking so emailed asking what time we could check in but hadn't reply, even when I resent it to another address I found. It wasn't a problem some just turned up at 3pm. Breakfast was a bit of an issue because that finished at 9.30am and we rolled up at 9.45am. The lady serving was really helpful so that wasn't an issue either. Overall our experience was lovely but would have liked a bit more communication.

My experience at this hotel was disappointing, the room was freezing and we only had a little plug in heater and the windows was wet with black mold on the frame, but there was no friendly welcome and the manager/owner is a very disrespectful person, banging on our door at half 10 in the morning demanding, we evacuate our room yet check out time is half 11 his attitude was rude in front of my 11 year old son and from what I heard in the carpark of the hotel from other guests he did the same to them in fact 2 more families, you are the sort of man I don?t want my son growing up to be!! Best bit is when I asked what we?ve done wrong he said nothing I?ve just got a booking for that room later and then he said the words I do apologise which to me isn?t an apology has the word I?m sorry wasn?t said plus he said 10 minutes but was banging on the door a few seconds later, A WORD OF ADVICE being polite costs nothing, A hotel owner that leaves his guests upset like you did just show what a poor customer service you offer at your hotel

The hotel is very tiered and in need of a little TLC. On the other hand all the staff are lovely and could not be more helpful. The staff made the stay very enjoyable.

Had an absolutely fantastic meal here a week or so ago, prepared by Chef Craig Riley from the A la Carte menu. By special request the menu was put on for my partner and I at lunchtime rather than evening (as we struggle with childcare) as a treat for my birthday. Both the food and the service were impeccable and the team bent over backwards for us throughout - even embarrassing me with a team rendition of 'Happy Birthday' as they presented my dessert :-) Many thanks for a great afternoon, we will return!

Meal with family.Initial food was warm, not hot, but very nice.Veg only arrived half way through the meal.Gravy arrived as everyone was finishing.Room was cold as well. Drinks are expensive.Been there many times over the years, it is always the same.

What a wonderful stay we had here, James and his team were so professional and attentive, we felt special, a 5 star service experience, the food was absolutely incredible, the hotel itself is historical quaint and charming with some fantastic trimmings. Our room was a little tired in places but made up for it with the patio and the charm. It's situated in the perfect place for an easy walk to the hot spots of the town with eateries and pubs, And as we were working for Honda racing UK it was the perfect spot for the donington race circuit. We stay in many hotels up-and-down the country with our job and this was a cut above the usual Premier Inn Mainly because of the passion the staff had for hotel delivering great hospitality. castle donnington town suffers from a lack of internet signal everywhere but don't let this put you off, Whether you're working or a romantic stay or a wedding, This hotel will not let you down, I've never stayed anywhere that takes so much pride in what they do,Thanks for a great stay!! Look forward to staying here again next bsb season!Georgie and Dom
