I bought a toilet seat from Plumbase, Chorley in mid November 2019, the product came with a 2 year guarantee. The seat was not used for three weeks during December and January as I was abroad.In late January, whilst the toilet was being cleaned, one of the plastic hinges snapped, rendering the toilet useless.I took the seat back to Plumbase in early February and was dealt with by Phil, the store manager. Phil said that the seat must have been stood on or something dropped on it causing it to break, and offered a replacement seat. I had already sourced a more substantial seat and said that I wanted a refund not a replacement, Phil refused a refund.I left the shop and contacted the area manager Peter Dean who authorised a refund. I returned to the shop and obtained the refund, a lot of fuss and inconvenience for something which cost less than £20.
