Just loud music and badly cooked food. Focus now on drinkers and very loud club music. Bit of a shock having dined here for many years - hadn?t realised had changed management.

SUPER slow service. We spent three to four hours here at lunchtime just waiting for food and bills cus they got it wrong the first time. Food was okay at best.

This is a review based on our latest experience. We booked a table in the restaurant for 2 people. When we arrived we were taken up to the restaurant and were offered a very low chesterfield sofa to sit on with a table in front. I explained that I had back issues and couldn?t possibly sit on a sofa and eat. We were told that the only alternative was to eat downstairs in the pub. I explained that we booked a table not a sofa in the restaurant, not the pub where a loud band were due to play. We were told that there was no alternative so we had to leave. I have to say that we love the pub but the service offered in the restaurant was appalling!! We will probably drink in the pub again but the restaurant is definitely black listed!!!

The new owner has changed things a little making it more of a cosier place to be. The new owner is a nice guy and served me with total respect.Really like the place even more. Have been going here for 16 years and it has just got better. Will try the food soon so can't comment on that, but there is a new menu in the pipeline.

Fantastic lunch at the Pearson?s Arms. We hadn?t booked anywhere on a Sunny Saturday and they accommodated our family as a walk in, despite being busy. We had brilliant, knowledgeable service from staff who seemed to really care what the food was like. The food itself was delicious. Highly recommend the catch of the day and the excellent cheese board.Thank you for a perfect lunch on our day out.

???Avoid eating here at all costs???We got severe food poisoning and have been unwell for 5 days now....I have emailed them but received no response. If you go on a Sunday the menu states you HAVE to have 2 courses, I only wanted 1 but then you still have to pay £30. And we got the poisoning from the trout starter that we didn't want, but also didn't want to wast our money. The member of staff that booked our table the night before was lovely. The female member of staff who served us really didnt want to be there. Like she was hungover or is treated badly by management.Food was oversalted, not tasty and small portions. The other 2 guests we were with were also underwhelmed by the food. The trout starter came with a blue oil that was tasteless, and very unappealing to look at.We spent £150 . Overpriced. Underwhelmed and very unewell.

We come to Whitstable twice a year and always make a point of having Sunday lunch here. The roast lamb is the best I have ever had and they apparently braise it for 48 hours. Their croquette starter with black pudding is also to die for too. Portions are generous and the service is fantastic. Our waitress even remembered that we had visited in October when our daughter, who was with us, had just been born. Amazingly, when she brought our bill over, she said that a discount had been applied because the pub keeps records and had noticed it was our seventh booking. We?ll definitely be back for an eighth time!

Nice cosy pub near sea front with good range of ales and a gastro restaurant upstairs serving good unusual dishes.

Food was average at best, service was terrible when for lunch and the tide went out and came back in by the time we finished, not enough staff?

Great food.....costs a few bob but worth every penny. Roast lamb sharing platter on a Sunday is top drawer.

So - we had sunday lunch here 3 times in the past 3 months. On the first occasion, we were booked in at 4pm. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived, when we were finally seated after 25 minutes there were only 3 other tables occupied. Most of the veg had run out, and the beef was very chewy. As we'd eaten in here a few times before and had good experiences, we tried again. This time we were earlier at around 2pm, and the meal was much better. The pigs in blankets were superb (an extra to the sunday lunch). My wife's chicken was good, not brilliant and my turkey was very good.Based on this experience, we booked in for december for their christmas menu. All i can say is the food, what there was of it, was ok. However, for a christmas dinner there was only 1 small slice of turkey. The portion was appalling and not worth the price. The veg were ok but not great. All in all we won't be back. Nor will other family members who went between christmas and new year and had similar issues with portion sizes.

Myself & my husband visited The Pearsons Arms for lunch. The lunch was delicious we had scampi, sausage rolls & soup. We decided to book dinner later for 6 people. My husband ordered scallops for starters what a disappointment 1 scallop arrived it was ridiculous £12 for 1 scallop. Not sure where the rest of his starter was. Our food arrived but one persons meal didn?t. We?d all finished our meal when her cottage pie arrived. It was inedible dry & uncooked inside. The mince inside was pink it wasn?t even cooked properly. What a disappointment the whole evening turned out to be. We wished we?d gone elsewhere & had fish & chips in the many wonderful Whitstable nearby pubs or restaurants . We won?t be visiting again.
