With many Barclays Bank branches having been closed down, we are left with either on-line, telephone or using the app to take care of our banking requirements. These methods are fine for people who feel safe or comfortable with using those methods, however, this can be quite daunting for many people given the ever increasing risk and rise of on-line and telephone fraud or simply do not understand modern technology.What happens if you need to pay some cash into your account? well, you have to drive to the nearest banking branch, this is time consuming and I feel unacceptable especially if you are elderly and have difficulty getting around like my 80yr old mother who had received some money and didn't want to keep it in the house.We took a trip to Barclays Bank in Ashford as this is the closest branch, 25 minute drive both ways and £3.30 parking charge, now it appears that the customer is now spending their own money in order to save the bank money, not really acceptable in my opinion but no other option that I am aware of.This review would have been only 2 stars if it hadn't been for the lovely lady at the Ashford branch who overheard what I can only describe as a rude little man telling my mother that she needed to use the self service paying in machine as he was busy apparently doing from what I could see as doing "nothing", she took control in a very nice way and paid the money in using the machine and gave us a quick demonstration at the same time.What a lovely, friendly and helpful lady, only wish I had remembered to ask her name.So as I have stated this would have been a 2 star rating, however I bumped up to 4 stars purely because of the incredibly helpful staff member who actually cared about an elderly lady who was putting her money into Barclays Bank!

One of the worst branches I've ever been to and frankly should be closed. Went to discuss a fraud case with them, my solicitor advised what the bank's responsibilities are. There answer "we cannot share out policies on fraud". Remarkable even asked a manager to join the lady. In the end wrote a letter of complaint to Barclays who said "they were shocked and the staff may require training". No training given clearly. No idea of process, wouldn't take it seriousally etc. Personal view is this branch should be closed, which is a shame as there are many good staff there willing to help but the management and other teams don't know how to do their job correctly. This case and others are now with the Ombudsman

Not enough staff. When trying to pay money in at counter told to usemachines. Tried machines,asked for assistance and even staff couldn't help.Never able to print off statements as either machine not working or run out of paper.

Trying to remortgage. They were useless. Junior staff, standard responses, sending me to use the telephone services whilst knowing perfectly well that I can't get through due to waiting times. No effort made to offer alternative course of action. Should be shut down. Unfit for purpose as is the online remortgage system and the telephone system that does not distinguish between fixed rate and variable rate customers. Very poor service from this branch and from Barclays overall at this time.

Dreadful service in Oldham branch that is self service but has staff also who are rude, unhelpful and do not know how their own systems or processes work. Wasted an entire Saturday morning because of the sheer incompetence and unwillingness of staff to help or communicate. Simply dreadful.

hi today i went there to start an accountbut i felt like avoided and rude response from front officer lady..one more staff guy was there he was very good person he was so kind .but lady staff was rude to me .she wasnt helping i went twice with her today as well last saturday .i felt very disappinted .i realy wanted to start an accountbarclys manager if you reading this please accept this review .felt very sad todayi visited today to the branch ashford bank ( 26/03/2022

Went all the way to this branch today to pay in my works banking and it's closed with just a sign on the door , I understand the football was last night , but all 6-8 members of staff can't be off , an absolute joke wasted half my morning, had to pay for parking and get soaked for nothing

Walked straight in Barclays Bank Ashford. I obeyed mask policy. Cashier was polite & efficient. Plus free parking outside.Keep up the good work.

Saturday 30th Jan 2021 went to pay money in, I check Barclays Ashford website, stated close at 1pm , when I got to bank at 12.20pm bank was closed not happy, I had to pay to park up and walk to bank in rain, someone needs to up date website daily
