Good selection of groceries

Useful convenience shop with small selection of food, ice cream, papers and magazines as well as an Evri printer and send service. It's a genuinely useful shop with long opening hours. However food and drink can be out of date such as 01 May 2022 still for sale in August 2023. Just check before buying.

Absolutely horrible experience returning an Amazon item. Store owner said they don?t provide a packaging bag and that Amazon and Hermes are ?bullshit?. Stop offering this service then.

If anyone shops in Bottle and basket in Apsley, make sure you check the use by date on food products!Returned an item today that was out of date (purchased on sunday) only to be accused of buying it else where and for trying to pull a fast one (item only cost £2.50 ??). The man in the shop then started shouting at me and was for some unknown reason, extremely argumentative and aggressive towards me.Terrible, disgusting behaviour to be honest.I should be able to return OUT OF DATE food without abuse like that. Shocking.

I had to collect Amazon package as the open-air lockers were full. The owner/ cashier approached me without a mask. (I'm clinically high risk) I quickly gave him the paper on which I'd written Amazon, the code, and my name. He looked around various places, asked my name(it's on the paper) held out his hand a couple of times(to look at my phone?). I said the code is on the paper in his hand. He asked, Amazon? Yes! He said he didn't have my package, beckoned the man behind to come to the counter (he declined saying to serve me first). He then found my package behind the counter. No screen, no mask, no room or notices about distancing, touching everything in the shop with the same pair of tight plastic gloves, seemed impolite and incompetent. I won't risk going in there again.

First time visiting this shop. Despite being listed on DHL website as my nearest parcel drop off, my parcel wasn't accepted. Was told after the cashier scanned it "it doesn't work" i showed him the website and asked why the shop is listed as a drop off? He couldn't answer me and just said "can i serve?"Really unhelpful, no customer service.

This review is late in coming as I forgot to review it after my initial visit, but upon need to return an item to Amazon, remembered my experience here.I went in to return an item to Amazon. The cashier was very rude. For starters, after he emerged from the back room, I took the long route around the shop on my way to the till in order to quickly scan the shelves. He asked me why I'd gone the long way around and gave me a look as if I'm simple. Not exactly a cashier's place to question someone's every decision. Now this is where it became awkward. I'd sellotaped over the top of the returns barcode affixed to my package on the basis that we had been having a very rainy week with yet more rain forecast in the hope that the sellotape would help prevent droplets of water from ruining the barcode at some point in the parcel's transit. The cashier attempted to scan it and the scanner failed to read the code, which he promptly (and VERY exasperatedly) pointed out was due to the sellotape. He accused me of lacking common sense and proceeded to have a real nag at me about how I was stupid to sellotape over the barcode, asking why I did such a thing. I explained my reasoning (which I outlined in the last paragraph) and also explained that I had asked online if it's OK to tape over the barcode, and the majority of people said it's not only OK, but actually recommended. I'd also recalled receiving parcels in the past from senders who'd done the same. Heck, I've even worked at dispatch facilities where we were specifically instructed to cover the barcode!Having explained this reasoning to him, instead of just accepting it and moving on, he continued to insult me, talk to me as if I'm a moron and explain how my actions had fooled his bar code scanner and how therefore I had created extra, unwanted work for him (ironically at a time when there were absolutely no customers in the store beside myself). I refrained of pointing out that I'd done this before with no issues and perhaps the fault lies in his scanner but whatever, I just wanted the package sent by this point and he seemed more intent to continue arguing than actually send it.I pointed out that he could just type the 10 digit number below the barcode into his computer and he proceeded to lecture me on how that takes precious time, time which I am wasting. He attempted to scan the barcode a few more times, and on a few more occasions asked me again why I lack common sense and why I'd taped over the barcode. It's as if he was completely ignoring my answers. Why ask if you're not prepared to hear the answer? His attitude became increasingly insulting. Never known such a rude shopkeeper in my life.Eventually, after 5 minutes of this nonsense, he finally typed in the barcode number using his keyboard -- a process which took all of 10 seconds -- and the parcel was on its way. Shame he didn't just do that from the start instead of decide a confrontation was in order. In all fairness at various points I did start to get visibly angry with him and his incessant negativity and rudeness, and when I did get angry he had the audacity to laugh at me. Disgusting man. Utterly disgusting, despicable, hateful man.I've spoken to my family about this and incidentally found out some of my family have been in this shop before and, whilst they have not had an encounter like mine, they have found the shopkeeper to be 'disinterested' and 'unfriendly'.I work in customer service, so I know the importance of being approachable and helpful. If you're going to be grumpy and act as if everything in life is out to ruin your day, then quite frankly you're not fit to be working with the general public.
