I saw an add on my phone about a special offer at Mataland. So, I went to my local store at West Quay retail park. I went inside and was looking around for the item.I found the entire store to be really tidy and well set out as if it had just opened.I found a member of staff who, I later discovered was the manageress. I bought the item on offer and continued to look around the store. I was very impressed by everything. I don?t normally shop here but upon seeing this immaculately displayed store I will definitely be coming back again.The prices are also very good value too.

I went at ten on Saturday and place was almost empty. Found what I wanted quite quickly, no prices on anything just 20%off, no changing rooms I could see and woman trying on leggings in middle of shop so guess aren't any, I walked all round trying to find somewhere to pay eventually spotted an assistant who told me the tills were behind a wall at the back of the shop. The tills are all self service. Couldn't work out how to use them so left without purchase also couldn't find bar code on goods I wanted and having worn out my energy and patience finding the tills went home

My local store, good clothing for children's and babies, can find school bits which always good to come and grap what you want when you want, nice and quite can shop in peace.

Matalan is pathetic. No carrier bags, not staff to assist, you have to untag clothes yourselves. Shopping should be a nice experience not a job.

Hardly ever shop at this store however needed to get one item so we went there.When leaving the store the shop assistant standing in the doorway asked if we had purchased anything? We said yes and she checked our carrier bag and then asked to see receipt, which she didn?t even bother to read properly.Wondering was this a rule for all customers on this particular day or was it something random?Was it for some minority people only?I didn?t seem to see anyone else being asked or checked or did I miss something?It would be good if Matalan can confirm this with us.Definitely not a store or shop worth shopping with if one wants a pleasant shopping experience.
