Staff could not hear us asking for assistance. Called out x5 on different occasions.drinks were order by someone floating then left drinks on bar waitress had no idea they were there so we asked again and ended up with double drinks. Tried to ask for desert girl couldn?t see us waving or hear us. No one came to ask if we were ok if they had we could have asked about ketch up which we had to ask several times before we were heard.Parking: Very full no spaces to begin with and disability spaces full had to wait for a space to come available

Our booking for 7 ended up being for 4 as 3 people were unable to make it, but staff were understanding about the situation. We were served by a very polite male member of staff (sorry but didn't get his name, who had a good personality and sense of humour. The food was well cooked and hot and the desserts were lovely too, so our group were pleased with the whole experience.

Had a meal here last night with a friend and we were the last to go up and get food , which led to us getting a little extra meat which was lovely , food was absolutely stunning and our waitress soraya was amazing coming over asking us if we were all okay , overall lovely meal and service.

Quick trip to Toby's! I had a Yorkshire Pudding Beef Wrap which was delicious and couldn't help but go for some dessert, in terms of taste and presentation amazing! In terms of how full I felt, not so good! It's a very clean and well run Toby's!

They should have a rule that kids aren't allowed to serve themselves. I saw kids picking boogers in line and then using those hands to dish up their sides. You also stand in a very, very long queue to get your food. I got to the front and the guy didn't even ask me if I want a king plate. I assume he thinks women don't eat alot. He was quite unfriendly and I felt like I couldn't go back for more veg/sides like they say you can. So I didn't. The plates we ordered weren't worth the price. Partner got the king size and recieved an big white plate with a tiny part of meat mostly turkey. They are so stingy with the meat, 2 thin slivers of beef and lamb. Screaming kids everywhere running around the restaurant. Not a good place to be.

I will never be eating here again. This restaurant is not child friendly and the staff were really unhelpful. I turned up for our meal with my 2 year old to be told I was exactly 12 minutes late for my booking and that we will have our table for less time as there is a party booked in straight after us. I said this was fine and then she went to say you can wait for the rest of your party at the bar. I said can I not sit at the table, I have a little one and she was growing more and more impatient. She said no. When I queired why, she said its our policy! Once the rest of my family arrived, we got shown to our table which was in an empty area of the restaurant, so I really don't get why I couldn't sit at our table! Once getting served, my little girl tried talking to the waitress, who ignored her. There was no polite manners from the staff at all. The floor underneath our table was disgusting and there was dried up food on our menu. I have never written a bad review for anywhere before but this place 100% warranted one. No christmas spirit in Toby Carvery Hillsea!

The service from our table waiting staff was excellent, I was in a group of more than twenty and the pub was busy, nonetheless all our drinks and food orders were taken promptly and we then had a great time. The Salmon Wellington is very good, great pastry and full of salmon and prawns in a very tasty sauce, much better than I expected it to be.

You can always get a wonderful meal at your carvery. This year was the same as last year, good service, good food and very festive. 24 of us joined you this year a few more than last year. That shows you are doing something right!Vegetarian options: Three of out group took the vegetarian option, I heard no complaints!Dietary restrictions: Being Gluten Free, I have no problem enjoying a meal at the Toby Carvery, There are enough vegetable selections to fill your plateParking: Becomes harder to park when busy. But that's to be expected.

My first visit to Toby in Portsmouth and would be my last. The carvery wasn't that great, just didn't enjoy the meal, the service was very slow and staff need to smile just a little. My next visit to the area if I go to a Toby would be in Worthing, we had a great meal there back in July with staff who had a friendly smile.

Meat was cooked lovely, I had turkey, gammon and pork. Lots of choice of vegetables and different types of potatoes. Huge Yorkshire puddings, really nice gravy. However, there was only 1 person serving/carving which took a very long time to get our meal. It was very busy queuing for the carvery and it would have benefitted from more staff working on the serving/carving area. We awaited at least 15 to 20 minutes in the queue to get our carvery by which time when we got back to the table the teas we had ordered when first arrived, were lukewarm. The meat was hot but a lot of the vegetables were also just lukewarm which kind of spoilt the meal. Shame really as we?ve never had a poor meal in there before.Parking: Easy to park

Booking the table was easy, before we sat down and looked at . menu we were asked what drinks we would like? Putting us on the backfoot before we started. Our table was underneath a air conditioning vent blowing cokd ir out. The queue was long and no serviettes were available to even hold the hot plates until I asked. The food was mostly warm. However, the carrots and cauliflower were undercooked. The waiter didn't even have the decency to ask if everything ws OK at anytine. But was happy to accept payment!

Went with the family, we had a nice visit and I complemented on the generous portion sizes. A good and happy visit. The staff were friendly and welcoming.Parking: Easy.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Not sure but I would guess is available. The restaurant did not seem to difficult to get about and mainly on one level in the main areas.

This is the review for breakfast, Afternoon and evening might differ. I always find long queues to wait to prepay, they could do with more front of house staff and card machines. Chairs are a bit dated, that is an under statement, they are so old and worn out. When you queue for food it's so long that by the time you return to the table your fresh coffee is now ice cold. The reason for this queue is they take forever to get plates and some food out, (usually eggs). But you do get unlimited coffee and food. The food is always tasty but they do like to put bacon in everything! If you are a bacon fan that's perfect but if you are vegetarian or dislike bacon then it's not ideal. Would say this place is not suitable for vegans due to lack of choice and cross contamination as it is self service so people don't care what utensils they use to pick up food with.If you are not in a rush, and want a cheap and tasty breakfast then this place is ideal.Vegetarian options: You have the choice vegetarian sausages, beans, mushrooms and cooked tomatoes, and (eggs if you eat them) not a large choice, you also need to pre-order sausages as they are not up with the buffet.Parking: Small carpark and usually full.

During our visit we overheard numerous complaints about how dirty the plates were. The bacon was white, hash browns were soggy and one of our party found shell in her egg. The only good bit was the Santa part and considering it was meant to be ?breakfast with Santa? we were sat on the complete opposite side of the restaurant and the kids were only able to see Santa once we?d got in the queue. I would also suggest that when giving out presents for kids it would be well worth wrapping them as that is half the fun for kids when meeting Santa!

I booked Breakfast with Santa for my Daughter and two Granddaughters for the second year running and it was, yet again, fantastic, you do , without doubt, actually book the REAL FATHER CHRISTMAS!!!!! The children were in utter awe, food as always was delicious, thank you ?
