I purchased a Russell Hobbs Gas hob and 4 months later was notified there was a product recall affecting the model of hob I had purchased.I was provided details to make an appointment with British Gas so that one of their engineers could visit in order to inspect the hob & carry out any necessary repair on behalf of Russell Hobbs. The first appointment I made for 20 September 2023 was cancelled by British Gas due to lack of parts availability. In January 2024 I received notification from British Gas that appropriate parts were back in stock and was asked to make another appointment for a British Gas engineer to visit in order to inspect hob & carry out any necessary repairs on behalf of Russell Hobbs.I booked an 8am ? 1pm time slot with British Gas and took an annual leave day off work on 15 January in order to be at home for an engineer?s visit.I received email & texts before the booked appointment as reminders from British Gas.At 12:01 on 15 January I received a text message from British Gas stating their engineer is on schedule and will contact me when I am next.At 12:30 I received a further text message from British Gas stating their engineer is trying to get to me before 1pm but might be late.At 2:29 I received a telephone call from Billy saying he was the British Gas engineer booked for my appointment. Billy stated he wouldn?t be able to attend and inspect/repair my gas hob as he had taken other jobs dealing with gas fires for the afternoon.I exclaimed I had booked a day off work in order to be home! Billy responded to say he would rebook an appointment which we agreed for 19 January.I consequently booked another annual leave day off work in order to be home on the 19th.By the evening of 19 January, I had no visit from any British Gas engineer and hadn?t received any messages to explain why an engineer had failed to show.I?m now left in limbo due to British Gas failing to attend appointments and even more alarmingly I?m concerned about the Russell Hobbs gas hob and its safety status since the product recall I was advised off months previously.

Russell Hobbs - KettleIn my kettle (2019), a pin has broken off that is used to press open the filling lid.Russell Hobbs wants me to throw away the otherwise excellent condition kettle.I have to throw away a kettle that has a minor defect and buy a new one. They provide information as a link where you can purchase a replacement device. This sounds like waste and does not help towards a green and circular economy ?

Bad customer service, support ignoring problems

Dreadful customer service (and I speak from personal experience of managing such functions). Three phone calls and two emails over five working days to deal with a simple matter of a toaster which has failed well within guarantee period and I'm still waiting for a response from a real human being.

I contacted Russell Hobbs customer services and despite the current situation they responded the very next day. A couple of emails were exchanged and they replaced the broken part on our slow cooker by sending a new one. Can't fault them, I would definitely recommend them.

Bought a Russell Hobbs microwave and within 13 months of use it had rusted over inside, grey paint flecks were dropping into food and it smelt nasty despite cleaning. Complained to Russell Hobbs who took over 3 weeks to reply and said they canâ??t help as itâ??s 1 month out of warranty. Of course they donâ??t have to help but they must know that they sold shoddy microwaves as the whole model number search on Google reveals the same issue. Just shows the craftsmanship of these nasty Chinese gunk and the customer service aftercare. Will never ever buy from this company again and have chosen a new microwave from another supplier. Avoid

We bought a slow cooker from Lidl that broke, and their customer service was rubbish. Rang Russell Hobbs and got it sorted quickly and easily - replacement sent in a few days. Only 1 issue - be careful not to use the 0845 number like I did, as it may not be included in your call plan. I learned the hard way!

I recently purchased a Russell Hobs Futura 4 slice toaster from Currys on 09-05-18 I have only used it about 4 times. I was very disappointed in the item, it would burn the toast on one side and it was hardly brown on the other. I had to keep turning the bread and swapping slots. I gave up in the end and I have purchased another toaster different brand
