I received very poor treatment at their Altrincham branch last year. I was really surprised, as I am a loyal customer and have always found shopping at Dunelm a very friendly and good experience - especially at the Altrincham Branch.I went in with curtains I had purchased on the 1st December 2022 instore at the Altrincham branch ( I spent £615 instore on this occasion). My husband had taken 2 whole months to actually put up the curtain pole (which I also bought that day) and only then did I realise that the curtains I bought were too short! I went back with the mustard Luna 168 x 182 curtains to ask if I would be able to exchange them for the longer (more expensive) ones, along with purchasing more items on this visit.The woman who served me ( I am not sure if she is the managed - the manager I met before was lovely), was extremely rude and condescending to me in front of other customers.I realise it was out of the return period by 7 days, but surely not for an exchange? And for the exact curtain, just more expensive. The main complaint is how she spoke to me and said she could've helped if the curtains were packaged correctly ( I had all the packaging there - and said I could fold it and put it back in for her) and then refused to even look at me. I stood there embarrassed while people were waiting in line behind me and eventually left without even purchasing the other items in my trolley.I reached out to the "customer service" on the main Dunelm sight and was told that the issue had been sent on to the store. It has been a year and I have not heard back from them, even though I follow up on this issue by email.I will not ever shop at a Dunelm again. It's been over a year since I last spent money there and will much rather support other businesses.

Dunelm needs to stop hiring children with no manners; basic customer service skills really lacking from the girl on the till who is inept from doing anything but pouting and making you feel uncomfortable! They clearly need to teach the word thank you in their till training

Very Helpful staff. Victoria, Maaya and chloe. Especially chloe she is super helpful. She was thinking with me about the curtains and asking other staff to come and help as well. Very happy I met these people.
